So, a question for you artists here. What do you do when you want to edit pictures like that? With writing it's pretty easy to go back and insert or cut out stuff that doesn't need to be there, but it seems to me like with a drawing you'd have to go back and re-draw the entire thing if you want to make anything more than a minor change.
Redraw in my case, I can remaster it if I leveled my skill between redrawings.
I am not a great artist but I tend to draw the basic shapes first before any detailsthat way it's easier to fix.

My personal theory about that is that since most of a unicorn's spells seem to be linked to their special talent that they can't really use much magic until they get their cutie mark. They might be able to use basic telekinesis, but that's about it.
She's just naturally talented.
This randomly reminded me of back at the end of "Ticket Master" when every pony had telekinesis. So random, and never brought up again.
what about Celestia's school for mutants I mean gifted unicorns?

While your drawing does look a bit silly, I will say that it does take a lot of effort. My girlfriend can attest to that, and she would say the same thing I'm saying now: as you keep drawing, you'll gradually improve in both speed and quality. Just don't get hung up on how bad the results look, because you know that you can make them better later on.
If you wish to know, you only need to ask.
Funny thing about that, I don't know if it translates to drawing, but it worked well for me when learning how to slackline. I made myself stop thinking about what I was doing, because I had to let my body learn how to do the job before I could let my mind start giving directions.
