Man, how much would it suck to have a CM that implies a negative attribute? I mean, most ponies that would get one probably deserve it, but once the have it they're stuck with it forever. Even if they change and become a better person/pony/whatever.

Maybe they could be talentedly bad at it? If you're bad enough that something you can make almost as good a living off it as if you were good - past a certain point noone can tell the difference between fantastic and astoundingly crap anyways. just look at Pollock.
Really though, regardless of what the CMC seem to have set in their adorable little gourds, I don't think a cutie mark really represents talent, so much as it does what you want to do with your life. For example I seem to have a talent for mainpulating emotion, but my goal in life is to make people happy and help them grow. So by talent alone I might have a cite mark like a mood ring, but I think my actual cutie mark would be something like a smile, or a flower.
...oh my god, I'd have Cheerliee's cutie mark.

If they had the capacity to change then I don't think they'd gain a cutie mark that could be rendered irrelevant like that. A cutie mark represents your LIFE'S AMBITION. Something that will never change about you

Hmmm, my goal in life is to be creative and inspired, be it a written story, my 40k army, magazine covers etc...
...my talents are writing, drawing, thinking...
...would my CM be a sketchbook?

I'm not particularly talented at anything. I'd probably still be a blank flank.
I'm INTERESTED in editing and film making, but I'm not particularly good at it.
It must be nice to have a constant reminder of what your ambition is. Something you can turn and look at whenever you start thinking: "What am I good for?"

I would like to think that my cutie mark would be a book or a pen or something to do with writting but given that I have never actually finished a story I am so very unsure. T.T

They are like the others. Strange, hideous, resisting, fighting. Only these were not like the others. They did not die.

The good thing is, the first couple chapters are nice and short and introduce the main characters (Luna (pre Luna Eclipsed), Derpy, Trixie, Dashie) and the Bad Baking concept, so you have a nice and slow start. Then the chapters get pretty big and epic as the competition begins, with Preliminaries, Quarterfinals, Semifinals and the big Showdown at the end. Also several nice surprises (and a villain) along the way. Gets really silly in several places, but there's a lot to love.
Trixie has a pretty sad introductory chapter, Derpy's is heartwarming, Pinkie and Spike reprise their roles as announcers and Luna's frikkin amazing (and addicted to coffee).

I loved that fic, It has a interlude which you choose what happens, from a normal story, a Action story, a dark story, or a compleatly random story with Ninjas and Pirates. A good fic to read if you need a lighthearted, funny one for once. I recomend you read this if you hate the large quanity of serious stuff.

Because I am a very lonely and sad person, I spend Christmas reading the 'Best Night Ever' fanfic.
I guess this is the first time I actually read fanfic, and I'd say it was worth it.
