On Luna's guard. Spoilers for Luna Eclipsed I think she magically enhances them. The Pegasi we see pulling her chariot have large batlike wings. Considering Luna wasn't trying to be scary then those weren't costumes. Those are their actual uniforms. It would be an added incentive to join Luna's guard.

Pony sizes:

Foil! Twi is the size of a guard, or Blueblood,

Big Rig is like Mac,

the rest are standard male pony sizes.

My Royal Guard fic (that is on hold) has Luna's detail not being a choice duty. She's... bombastic. Similiar to Celestia, though, in which She wishes to be loved, not feared, and wishes to garner honest repsect and reverence from Her own Guard Detail.

K, here's my idea. His name is Shining Night or Ardent Aegis. Both are good. But ponies who mock him for his theories call him Spooky Night/Aegis. I still get my X Files reference and his name is more suited for the character. Everybody wins.

Isn't Blueblood the same size as Mac?

Scales is bigger than Spike isn't she? I remember that she's an athletic dragon while Spike is a more academic one.

Shining Night sounds too similiar to Shining Armor. Shining Aegis may work...

Since X-files mean nothing to me, I'm sticking to Shining Night.

I vote for Foil!Twi to have a rusty red/brown color, with light blue mane.

Also, do we have macho marks for all the foils?

And she's nuts for Pig Iron.

I'm all for X-Files references and those sizes sound pretty acceptable.

Mousa, it would make more sense if I was a Global Moderator rather than a Forum Moderator of every forum.

I have the general idea of the foils, but can some explain the whole thing to me? Not exactly sure on more then the broad idea that they are counters to the Mane Six.

They are a group of 6 male ponies very similar to, but slightly different from, the mane cast.

I'd say nobody knows except for Luna, Twilight Foil and Scales.

X3 I agree. I think it's more interesting to have as few characters as possible knowing who gives them their directives, but someone should know.
