Mm... I guess I can see that. Yeah, I'm going to hope for Meghan Mc Carthy as a writer. I can officially declare her my favourite writer, and Party of One was my favourite use of Pinkie yet, so...

I like her when she's written with more depth, but she just doesn't get enough of it. Ironically I'd actually say that Pinkie is the most underutilized of the mane six. The other five are allowed to be character, but Pinkie... she's used more as a joke than a real character. Poor girl. I wonder if that's the source of her insecurity? Or, you know, an in-universe equivalent?

The parrot speaks for itself...and often embarrishes Chuckles or lands him in hot water.

Like if a passer by puts a button in his bowl while he's performing, it'll insult them...and Chuckles will adopt this nervous Shut the fuck up! look with a forced smile.

That's actually the main reason I have never really like Pinkie. She is more of a comedic tool then a real character (likely intentionally so).

Pinkie has a lot of depth IMO. She is the exact opposite for twilight sparkle and therefore the most hard to understand.

Ginger and IMO do have a pint that many things we have seen of her have been very superficial , while she does need more development at her core she is just a girl that wants to have fun with her friends.

Mm... I'm looking through the episode list. It looks like the writers who have used her as an actual character in a focus episode have been:

Cindy Morrow(Griffon the Brush off, plus questionably winter wrap up, given that it was one of those full-cast episodes) Meghan Mc Carthy (Party of one)

I'm trying to suss out which writer is likely to be writing the episode based on how much they seem to like her and have used her in the past. If you couldn't tell I reaaaaaaaaally want this episode to be good. But the most likely ones are Meghan and Cindy, both of whom are pretty good. So, you know, fingers crossed.

She's been given depth on the whole by a few good writers, but she's used as a gag more often than not, which is the big issue. She's treated as a joke, and while that makes her funny her utility as a gag characters makes it that much harder for her to get real focus episodes and character development. Because she has depth, and she's a wonderful character, but those elements of her don't get used half as often as they should. I really want her to get more time as a real character, not as a joke character.

How smart is this bird? Cause I'm kind of imagining this parrot constantly grandiose statements about Chuckles abilities, and insulting passersby if they don't give enough money or don't pay.

Kind of like Trixie if she were somepony's manager.

Like all the animals in this show...it's pretty smart.

Trixie in parrot form...yes.

What I pictured was...it makes very intelligent statements, witty observations etc...but it still has this blank look on it's face, and it looks around aimlessly etc.

Also, there's the great mystery of how a mute was able to train a parrot to talk. The others...try not to think about that (in fact, that's what Foil! Twi first asked).
