Oh yes, I agree very much. The Windigos in general are very much nightmare fuel, but that scene where they all began to freeze was the worst.

the banner in the play was NOT the actual banner at the time, but IS the current banner of Equestia.

My guess about the banner is that they originally used a different one, but that one's been lost to history, so in the play, they use the modern banner with the princesses on it.

Well, they aren't actively ridding the world of hydras and such, so maybe it's more like they don't see the need to, with their land at peace.

As for the olden times, it was before Celestia and Luna that the big blizzard went down.

Anyways Ginger, here's something to placate you: Smart Cookie mad a shoot grow from a hooffull of dirt. In a matter of seconds. Imagine what an Earth Pony could do if they actually tried to grow something fast?

There seem to be a pretty large number of those for a relatively harmonious place.

@Enlong The Windigos are different to Hydras. They pose a constant threat to not only Equestria but the entire world. Why not get rid of them if you could? Why risk it just because there's peace NOW?

Hmmmm. Interesting. Perhaps the Last Windigo ascended and became Discord.

Lauren Faust created this version of Equestria. Sleipnir is a big meanie and takes too much after Mama Loki (lol), sending her children to attack the ponies who were the children of Faust. The Magic Synergy discovered that drove back the Windigos was later studied and used to forge the Elements of Harmony, which were done just barely in time before Discord ruined Equestria forever.

@Kegi: I saw that, this means Earth Pony buff auras are seriously OP. Pegasi get great base stats and flight, Unicorns get magic and skills, Earth ponies get crazy base stats and killer buff auras. Green Hoof Passive Power is now canon :D
