Oh dear, lots of pages to catch up on, but I'm glad I didn't spoiler myself

Sooo, here's my first time impressions of the episode, before having read any of the other posts:

-Dat opening. Man, was that cute, and set up the atmosphere perfectly. Dat tree hat. Also, snowpony. Man, I wish we could have seen Lyra build the snowman from that one comic ^^.

-Holy ****, best episode of all time ever. "Pegasusisusiis" rofl. Crown on the wrong way, awesome. Frost giant ponies.

-WORLDBUILDING BACKSTORY AWESOMENESS

-OK! Either the Mane 6 are absolutely amazing actors/method actory, or they let them improvise like crazy. Both also very likely! Man, Pinkie... holy crap, I'm not coherent.

OK, I'll make this brief, my favorite episode ever. I don't really care what this says about my love for the Mane 6 when my favorite ep isn't really about them per se, but I don't care. Holy crap, loved everything.

I was expecting their backstage conflict to add a real edge to the play, and for some Alicorn Sisters sighting D:

needs more carolling and Princesses, but overall, GREAT episode.

Well, that was kind of disappointing. I wasn't even expecting much out of this episode, and it was still underwhelming.

Anyways, a pretty decent episode. I'm a bit bummed the one song was so... brief, but the Windigos were neat, and the whole thing was pretty cool. It didn't even Joss as much as I thought it would, since it never even touched where the princess's came from. Though it's interesting that unicorns used to do it on their own... if anything this episode has lent strength to a lot of my fanon.

Celestia was an ascended Unicorn, perhaps?
