Couldn't it just as easily be a birthday gift? And I recall the line "fills my heart with sunshine all the while" which doesn't fit Christmas at all.

@Enlong What?

Last time I brought up that scene, I was responding to the notion that a unicorn would be able to hoist Big Mac off the ground using telekinesis. I said that Luna and Twilight were the only ones we've seen so far with thst kind of power. I then pointed to Sparkler (a standard unicorn) and said that she seemed to lack the brute magical force necessary to lift somepony like Big Mac into the air. As evidenced by the fact that she couldn't pry a PP lid off by herself using raw magiical power. (or at least appeared to be having trouble doing so)

I never mentioned RD

I meant that you said that she should be able to wrench it off with magical force. However, Dash, one of the most athletic and in-shape ponies in town, was also unable to open it before Sparkler loosened it a bit more for her.

As for Big Mac, I doubt Twilight could lift him against his will. Not for long, anyway.

[up][up][up][up] I don't think RD was able to get a good grip on the thing. The ways in which she was holding it looked incredibly awkward [lol]

[up] The Diamond Dogs are my favorite villains because they lost due to physical incapabilites, not incompetence.

[up][up] Yeah. Those poor, poor kidnapping slavemasters. Rarity should have given them more concessions. For all we know, they could've been harvesting gems to feed a dragon about to eat them. We don't know!

[up][up][up] Oh, and after she loosened it, Rainbow only had to flip it off. Who wants to bet that she did a bit of unscrewing as she was handing it over, to get the whole charade over with?

Yeah the Diamond Dogs were pretty awesome...remember they did fight off the mane cast!

More villians like them would be awesome!

[up][up]I didn't like them at first and I thought they were pretty bad guys. And then Rarity did her thing and I had no choice but to gain sympathy for them.

She gave them the chance to be civil. Heck, she went and marked a bunch of caches for them. Then they tried to make her their slave.

Oh no, but they had to endure someone whining.

Feh.

Wow, somebody else who can't stand Rarity?

I thought I was the only one. Although she's not a total loss. At least she did a good showing at the Sisterhood Social after realizing what she had done.

However, I turned off the eposide at the halfway mark in which she goes to Canterlot. I was ready to scream at my monitor: "THAT FUNNY TATSE IN YOUR MOUTH IS YOUR HOOF! THAT YOU KEEP PUTTING THERE!"

I just couldn't deal with it anymore. Hit the back button, and then I veg'd on Luna snippets for about an hour after that. [lol]

My wife reminded me that Rarity is NOT the bearer of the Element of Loyalty.

Well, duh. That was blatantly obvious in about five seconds.

Well, I'll spoil the rest of it for you. She totally doesn't see the error of her decisions by the end, or feel guilty throughout the episode.

oh wait, I've got this silly thing backwards.

Rarity's my favorite pony, actually. I find it ridiculous that some people hate her when she really doesn't do anything that bad.

She uses one of the only methods available to her to fight back against being enslaved and used as a pack mule by underground scavengers? Oh no, how could she possibly?

Granted, her approach to fame in "Sweet And Elite" isn't the best, but she learns her lesson.

Don't misunderstand me. I didn't go into the serise hating her guts. Quite the opposite, actually.

I know that she gets it right in the end everytime, but GAH, I couldn't stand it - lying, covering up, being embarassed for where she was from, who her friends were, the whole bit.

Contrast that with:

Like, when she made the dresses for the Grand Galloping Gala. She worked very hard to please her friends, even if they told her all sorts of junk information about what they wanted. That was a good Rarity episode.

And now we're seeing her all being whiny and self-centered and crap.

That's not the Rarity I wanted to like.

So - am I peeved at the peopel writing her parts now...? Probably. I shouldn't take it out on her.

Sweet and Elite is awesome. I love how it completely subverts the Fawlty Towers Plot.
