Third (fourth, counting Faust's OC-alicorn) Alicorn: I may withold working much on my Horse-in-Equestria idea.

However, I'll drop this snippet here, an excerpt of the sole remaining copy of "Of Equine Origins", under the House Caballus entry. I have it planned that the particular article was left incomplete. And damaged.

“Horses were a dwindling subset of equines by the time Princess Luna fell into the twisted form of Nightmare Moon [see entry Mare of the Moon and Nightmare Moon] , and House Caballus decried the breach of Royal Protocol by Princess Celestia as too extreme. Despite the retaining of order, House Caballus made the decision to leave Equestria, taking with them all pure-bred Horses with them. A handful of Earth Ponies left with them on their own accord.”

“Princess Celestia sent emissaries to ensure that relations with House Caballus remained cordial, and provided that neither party caused undue trouble, trade was freely permitted. But the rift caused by Nightmare Moon was deep, cutting into the pride of Horse-kind, and driving the Horses and Alicorn and Ponies apart. The overwhelming majority of Ponykind sided with the sole remaining Alicorn, Princess Celestia, and thus Equestria continued to thrive and prosper under Her benevolent guidance and wisdom.”

I love Spike's design. I didn't really notice it before but he looks cool.

@Applelight: She's an Earth Pony, haven't decided on her colour (Golden-brown mane, perhaps?) but she'll definitely have a stylized lightbulb (The Incredible Machine style?) Cutie Mark. I've settled on giving her a not-too-long ponytail for her mane and safety goggles for when she works, as well as a modifed leather forehoof "shoe" with mounts for locking on precision instruments for the delicate work.

I think she should be nicknamed "Bri" by her friends, and be teased with "Bride Dear" if she develops a crush on some nice stallion :3

Earth Ponies woudl tend to use technology to compensate for hteir lack of horn or wings. Found an excellent fic about efforts to put a Pony into orbit, via technology. Forget the name, but pretty catchy.

Oh, and thanks guys, glad you like Spike's design, I was a little worried about it at first, especially since I wasn't quite sure I could make the faux-hawk work.

So, is that the last chapter for Fallout Equestria? It's conclusive enough that I think it is, but there's just enough left over that I can see her writing an epilogue-like thingy.

2 pages of an epilogue and then 2 pages of an afterword on Christmas apparently.

Oh, that's good. I want more.

Yes, I was told that a mohawk where you use all your hair instead of shaving it is called a "faux-hawk"

I'm going to take this over to the fanfic thread, but I'll leave this little bit here:

I'm trying to make a pony 'superhero' squad made up of ponies with unusual talents. It will be three earth ponies lead by a high ranking Equestrian Military officer who gives them the missions.

What I've got is:

A knight from around the same time of the first Nightmare Moon incident, flung forward in time Samurai Jack style. He is a big pony, an expert in hoof to hoof combat, and has the ROYAL CANTERLOT VOICE as his power. Defeats monsters and destroys their lairs by singing at the top of his lungs.

A clockpunk inventor, unusual in that he can create working machines, something usually only Unicorns can do. The team leader and Smart Guy of the group...goes into battle with his various weapons and gadgets.

And the third is still very WIP.

Sounds like fun to read. The third should probably be some sort of foil to the first. For DRAMA!

For DRAMA! Is the new For SCIENCE!

The third pony should be based off of Elan from Order of the Stick. Or the halfling.

...Interesting. I forsee Clockpunk pony getting into technical arguments with Bright Idea if he ever visits her shop. They still become friends because they have a lot in common, but argue a lot about how to make machinery do any particular task.

It's Bright Idea, my OC pony! I gave her some nifty tools Twilight and Rarity could appreciate. The forehoof shoe with tool-mounts is definitely something I can see other Earth Ponies liking because it helps with the fiddly tasks.
