It's not that I don't think they could do it well, I'm just tired of seeing it, and the whole concept doesn't really appeal to me. (is that so wrong?)

Thread's hitting imageboard speeds again. My last post on last page

As I mentioned in my previous post, I wouldn't mind some analysis of my doodles to see what's gotten rusty since I last really sat down and doodled something. Medium is blue-ink ballpoint pen on thick white card and/or 80 gm copier paper. Artist-bronies need to know what they need to grind so's they can get better :V

Also, apparently Cupcake the (Earth?) pony looks very much like Princess Cadence.

Speaking of ponies ascending into Alicornhood, I keep thinking of To Aru Kagaku No Railgun and To Aru Majutsu no Index, and keep on mentally picturing a city where the finest pony scientists are trying to help ponies maximise their talents until they become powerful enough to transform into Alicorns.

Ace: The second picture, the forehoof might be a bit too short compared to the hind leg, but it's a little hard to tell. With the fourth, the head seems a little compressed compared to the proportions of your other drawings. Other than that, I'm not really used to dealing with your style or proportions, so the finer faults (if there are even any) are lost on me. Although the overall style feels a little cat-like (again, not familiar, so take it as you will).

Are girls the only ones allowed to be Alicorns or something?!

Remember when the fandom used to be praised for being nice and tolerant?

@Kuroi: Yeah the proportions are a bit tricky to get right the first try, and I think that a bit of catness slipped into their postures or something, might be the ears or the eyes or something. I went with slightly more elongated proportions than the show uses, you can see how I use the framework to define their poses and "bones".

@Ginger: I was thinking more along the lines of level-grinding the gifts of their Cutie Marks until they become stupendously overpowered, and their Cutie Marks would be graded along how easy/difficult it would be to grind their power levels until they become Alicorn-tier (Level Six). Twilight is totally a Level Five by their standards.

Us more moderate bronies are pretty tolerant. In some other threads, I may or may not have threatened all sorts of nasty fates upon haters and trolls, and swung my old banhammer around like a rolled-up newspaper. Here, so far the worst is threatening to sing badly at folks and maybe asking them if they like bananas.

I like to think I'm reasonabe and tolerant too. I certainly hope that I come off as that!

Given that we managed to successfully navigate a mature, respectful discussion about pony sexuality without anyone bursting into rage tears and calling everyone else in the thread furfags or some nonsense like that, we already have a leg up on the vast majority of the rest of the Internet, I would say.

I definitely would say that this thread, at least, shows love and tolerance for the most part. All of us are only human, and people have differing opinions and get upset sometimes, but that's only natural - and the fact that people come back and apologize, something I've never seen anywhere else, is a recommendation in and of itself.

I'm pretty reasonable and tolerant and all that. Mostly because I operate by the rule of "If what you are saying isn't especially smart, funny or thought-provoking, you might as well shut up". In other words, high standards, which is why I don't post that often (even though I read everything).

Ace: Hmmm, yea, the ears are part of the cattiness. Taking a hard look that elongated frame, I think it's also the litheness. The ponies have a fairly visible belly, whether it be on the show or a quick prowl through the first page of Google Images. The way you have them kind of reminds me of a stalking cougar.

And I agree we're pretty tolerant here. Heck, I've seen worse flaming and intolerance on other family friendly type forums (GameFAQs and Blizzard off the top of my head).

I posted this before but on what Cadence is Alicorn of, it might be minor deity of music.

That video. Everytime I hear that song it dredges up memories of Spoony's Let's Play of SWAT 4. Botched attempts at at breaking down doors, flash bang grenades being improperly thrown leading to the SWAT team getting blinded, cries of "You're in my way sir!" and "You fool!" Good times. Good times.

@Kuroi: I kinda like going with a slightly leaner look; the ponies inshow are just proportioned to be really cuddly-looking. I guess it's my native style shining through. The ears thing I'm kinda working on at the mo.
