The need to use "prince" and "princess" for all the royals mucks up the family relations a bit, doesn't it? I mean, Blueblood clearly doesn't have as much pull as the princesses, but he was supposed to be a duke anyway.
I have a message from another time...
BTW Anybrony noticed when this tread have one year anniversary?
Well I did, but I didn't say anything. I was originally planning to do the statistics thing for the one year anniversary, but I never got around to it.
It's pronounced "Te-ah-low-ve"
Okay, upon closer inspection of those pictures, I noticed two things:
1. That's not Canterlot Castle that they're at.
2. The Cutie Mark Crusaders are there and it looks like they're flower girls or something...I'm guessing that whatever those two new ponies are for...it may be a wedding.
Tick Tock, goes the clock/ He cradled and he rocked her/ Tick Tock, goes the clock/Till River kills the Doctor.
How likely is it that theis stuff is going to actually show up in the TV show? A lot of the newer toys have absolutly nothing to do with the Friendship is Magic series.
The Princess sisters are beyond the basic demigod category, and are also stronger than tribal gods; they are roughly on the same level as the Greek gods and some of the Chinese heavenly officials, but nowhere as powerful as Creator-class entities.
^Hm... God-tier really isn't one tier, is it?
Yeah... I'd place Celestia similarly in power to Amaterasu, actually. Similar role and everything, and there's the ancestral claim translating to political power, as well.

There's also a "synthetic" deity rank awarded to folks who aren't of divine heritage, but are augmented to the point where their abilities are well beyond mortal limits.
^^As JTeeth said, though, that's a reference (or so I'm told). Is there a tradition of swearing by a monarch?
Anyway, yeah. Like I said, though, Shinto does have offerings and such to
kami, and in many cases they are called upon for help, but there's no concept of 'leaving things to God' like in the Abrahamic traditions.
Kami often have their own motivations, and they can be very petty, so it's considered expedient to ask for help while doing the best one can alone.

There is the tradition of swearing to something of great (sometimes personal) value.
The Princess Bride had "the sword/soul
* (not sure which, I could never quite tell)
of my father", and
Doctor Who had "fish fingers and custard".

Celestia originally had just the ability to raise the sun, and
most of her power comes from being revered as a god
Because we need more Discworld parallels.
