Rainbow don't have problem with Opal. She puted that cat on tree to get Rarity atention, and Opal was OK with that or even whanted to help.

Who's to say they don't have gods in the setting? For all we know, Celestia may not even be a god, just a higher race (if that).

Well there was Rarity's "As Celestia is my witness" line. But beyond that, no, they never treat her as an actual deity. And Discord was the spirit of chaos, not the god. Perhaps they simply don't have gods in the way we do - their religion may be spirit or totem-based.

It might make you their god, but it doesn't make you a god, not in the proper theological sense. Just as dressing up as a cop makes you a cop to someone who doesn't know any better. For certain definitions of cop, you are. In a technical sense, you are not. But it's a moot point, since we still have yet to see any evidence of Celestia being properly worshiped to any degree.
