Twilight: Straight, but wouldn't go after a relationship herself. The colt would need to start it.

Apple Jack: Hmm, Possibly Les, or at least the most likely to be.

Fluttershy: While straight, would not go after a relationship, and would probably shy away from anyone tring to start one.

Rainbow Dash: Straight, but not 100% sure.

Rairty: Straight, and would seek a relationship.

Pinkie Pie: Bi. Nothing more needs to be said.

Can we just agree that pretty much any view on pony sexuality is pretty much guaranteed to be fanon, and therefore pretty much subjective? Because we're starting to repeat ourselves.

I'll agree with Ginger on Occam's Razor and leave it at that.

They do act like humans, but they have occasional pony-like hints, like how they move when panicked and charging and stuff.

I mean, in-story it makes more sense to me than us conveniently never seeing them mention it once.

yes, mentally they act like humans, but physically they still act like ponies. So really it comes down to whether you feel psychology or biology has the bigger impact on sex.

Does it make sense to talk about romance in a show for little girls? Is it possible to do it in a relevant and interesting way, unlike the "the meaning of life is to find love" moral of most romantic works? I'm thinking of something like 5 Centimeters per Second.

In theory, I think it could be possible, but I'm not sure it would be worth the effort. I really don't think that romance fits the show that well, and no matter how well written it is, romantic stories have never really interested me all that much. I have no doubt the writers would do something interesting with it, but I'd rather keep the canon romance-free.

agree, not against seeing romance in the show, but I just think it would fit in very well. Though knowing the creators, if anyone could do it they could.

Romance involving any of the girls, I think, would have to be very well-written to avoid ticking me off - largely because, aside from FlutterMac, the only pairings I can think of would necessitate a new character being introduced solely for the sake of a relationship. If it were done properly, over the course of a season or so, I might be able to stomach it... but for instance, the latest chapter of It Takes A Village involves Rarity becoming quite enamored of Fancy Pants, which annoyed me. Not because of how the attraction was written, but simply because he was an outsider to the tightly-knit group of the six girls plus Spike and was warping the pattern (to shakily extend the thread metaphor).

Oh. Tragic love stories between... between the Godesses... and the mortals who were their companions...

...can't...breath...from...laughing.

They could introduce a character that sits at the Zecora level of significance...turns up say 2-3 episodes, helps out (or hey, causes the trouble)...they have friends of their own (a power trio maybe)...the love blooms over the season...and it may or may not be resolved.

On a completely different topic, it may be because I've never thought about it much before, but after listening to Rarities popular pony song a few times, I think it may be my favorite song from the entire series thus far. Starting to think it would be nice if it had another verse, though. Or if there was a possibility for an extended cut.
