As has been stated above, they've used apples, cattle, flamingos, rabbits and the assumption that Celestia i the size of a normal horse for scale calculations. They ALL give a height of approximately 3 feet tall for ponies. If you want to say that they're a different size, the burden of proof is on you, Death.

EDIT: And they are the size of normal ponies. Normal Shetland ponies.

Sereg just mentioned. Scale-wise EVERYTHING points to them being around 3 feet tall, so unless you're assuming that EVERYTHING in Equestria is larger than it is in our world EXCEPT for the ponies, I don't see why you're arguing

Now give me reason's that flamingos, rabbits, apples and cattle are all not only not the size of their real world counterparts but are scaled identically, but ponies aren't.

I say that I'm not convinced into beliving in 3 foot ponies theory. All that comparision asume size of other creatures and ingore fact that world is drawn in cartoonish proportions.

Three reasons why the ponies are not the same size as real life ones:

1. They are pastrel coloured talking animal cartoons.

2. They are called little ponies.

3. They are magical.

The largest breeds of real ponies are around 5 and a half foot tall at the withers. A real pony can be more or less any size under that. Maybe then the mane 6 are small pony breeds, which can as little as a mid sized dog.

...so, we said earlier that Tealove is Rarity's Cherliee, and Cherilee is Twilight's...Cherliee.

What about the others?

I suggest that Golden Harvest is AJ's Cherliee. They both look like farmers, and it could explain why they were hanging out at the apple bobbin' during Nightmare Night.

See, I see the mane 6 as close friends (oviously). But they must have aquentinces outside the group.

Take my life for instance...I have my friend friends I see and hang around with all the time...but I also have my co-workers, classmates, my GW buddies etc.

REAL LIFE PONIES CAN BE THAT SIZE. </Canterlot voice>
Even if that weren't the case, literally all other animals in the setting besides the ponies are scaled realistically to each other. (outside of mythological creatures at least). It's easier to believe that the ponies are smaller than normal than it is to believe that they're horse sized and everything else in the setting is scaled up accordingly.

Setting that aside for a moment, I still want to see an episode where Twilight subs in for Cheerilee at the schoolhouse. It would be epic.
