Actually, the episode I had in mind would have her hiring Twilight on as an assisstant but because Twilight's so much better at the job than the mayor is, she gets voted in come election time.

The mayor then starts bumming around with the other five as Twilight slowly grows more and more overwhelmed by the position until she starts going OCD on the entire town

Well, at least AJ has appeared in every episode so far, and done something useful. That's something.

That's not much. I find that Applejack is consistently the pony that's "just there, " who doesn't show much personality with her casual interactions with others or even get many good gags while she's in the sidelines.

Applejack is now my third-favorite pony based solely on how bad I feel for her.

Bide your time and hold out hope.

I can picture Twilight deciding to run purely because everyone else would insist that it's good idea (as I mentioned, I think if she were the mayor's assisstant, she'd end up outshining the mayor pretty easily)
