Yes, they used the flamingo in MTBPW as a guide to calculate the average pony height. Seems as though most of the ponies of Equestria are the little varity.

Now, the wet mane AJ is slightly spoiled by the fact that it still has Rarity's eye shape. If you want to see real wet mane AJ, watch episode 2 or 25.

When friendship is fighting is released, I'ma just play Fluttershy and always win because it's not like anyone would hit her.

Also, if you play MMDW episode backwards, it's about Dashie making the mane cast dress up as a superhero, whereupon they break stuff around the town, then Dashie chucks a baby in a well and flies off to chill on some clouds or something.

@Death: That's just nitpicking. There's no reason to believe that all the other animals aren't normal sized unless we have evidence otherwise. If we want to be absurdly literal we can say that we have no idea of scale since there are no humans in Equestria to compare to, but by this argument even if there were humans in Equestria you could just say "that's not proof until we have Word Of God that the humans are normal-sized". In short, no we don't have hard evidence, but it's a perfectly reasonable assumption to make, and it makes more sense than any other alternative.

Now, the theory that the ponies are the same size as their toys is interesting. That would mean that if a human ever landed in Equestria...we'd be like a 50 foot tall monster. Hilarious!
