I see what you mean about Rainbow Dash's friends spelling out the "lesson" for her. If they'd been subtler about it, it could have been funnier and made them look less jerkish, like this:

"We thought you looked so cool saving the day, we all decided to give it a try too!" "Yeah, and it's a good thing we did, since you're so busy being a superstar that you don't always have time to be a hero anymore!" "Oh, I get the hint..."

If this makes you ask "What is this, I don't even, " honestly, I don't know. I just did. So have some Celestia in spandex.

Good review again. The setting problems didn't bother me as much. If we see this kind of thing again, we can conclude that Ponyville is expanding. Trust me. I know what it's like to live in a rapidly expanding town. It was like everyday there was an entire new set of townhouses that had popped up.

Electricity - that was at least in one episode before, in Feeling Pinkie Keen (Twilight Lab).

Also in Winter Wrap Up, she turns on the lights instantly and with an audible click - very clearly a light switch. Of course before now, all that could be seen as magic. The whatsit-measuring machine could be a series of, I dunno, crystals or some junk meant to measure magical output. No electricity needed for that.

All this talk of Rainbow Dash, Pony Romance, and so on makes me ask:

If Rainbow Dash asked you out on a date, what would you say?

(bonus question: Why would Rainbow Dash ask you out on a date? Are you qualified to be her pet?)

I'd say pretty much sure, why not? (Not in those actual words, of course). She might be fun for an evening, and who knows: a more intimate relationship might bring out more endearing parts of her personality. Besides, if she likes arguing then she and I would get along well enough. I love a good argument.

As for why... well, I'm awesome! Hah! No, seriously though. I can fake it with the best of them - I think she might appreciate my confidence and panache. I can be pretty charming when I want to. Plus I still hold that I'm a lot like Applejack, and I'm sure we all know how RD feels about AJ.

If it can use Power Gem, Rarity will use it.
