Well I just finished watching them all last night, and I have some questions.

First off, did the hotair balloon sequence during the opening ever actually appear in the show? Twilight took a carriage to Ponyville. The only times I remember them using the hotair balloon was to visit Rainbow Dash.

Also, has Twilight used her teleportation powers since episode 4? It seems like the writers just forgot about it or something.

No, I don't believe anything of the opening animations actually show up during the show itself. And as far as I can remember, she did stop teleporting entirely. I think it was out of necessity, though. At least a few of those storylines would have been completely derailed, since it would have provided the easy way out.

The character page already has a Forgot About Her Powers entry for Twilight. Granted, it only uses one specific episode in its description, but it gets the point across.

I thought Forgot About Her Powers was for one specific instance of forgetting something, whereas Forgotten Phlebotinum is more permanant.

Twilight only i one situation needen teleporting (that Hydra stuff).

Maybe with firt dragon to, but she has problem with teleporting others.

And Early Installment Weirdness don't aply here. This is more about some thing from long runner or some thing what is over.

The trope is Forgot I Could Fly.

The balloon shows up twice in the show proper, in "Sonic Rainboom" (as storyyeller said) and "Party of One".

The fandom seems to have decided that Octavia is Pinkie Pie's sister.

I guess that explains why she was willing to take a request for the Pony Pokey at a fancy party.

About the hydra and teleporting.

Why would she? She was there to distract it.

Unless you mean the jump across the chasm. In that case, remember that she's never teleported that far intentionally. Intentional teleports have been small hops at best, never the length of a hop, skip, and jump.

Good point. Also if I rememer teleporting was not perfected and she coul not teleport in safe place. Also TS stops thinking logical when she is nervous or in danger.

Yeah, Twilight's teleporting is a little odd. If it had just happened in "The Ticket Master" I would brush it off as just something she could do only in a moment of pure desperation (I seem to remember her saying she didn't even know how she did it). But then she does it pretty frivolously in "Applebuck Season" so that excuse doesn't fly anymore.

Maybe its something that only happens during Pony Periods, like the Pinkie Sense.

So I'm not alone in feeling weird about there not being a new episode yesterday.

Also, I feel strange in that I find this fandom's quick embrace of minor, background characters weird. I guess that's the upside of having a Cast of Snowflakes?

And I also find the fandom's focus on minor background characters weird. I guess I can kinda understand it, though—if I had watched this as a kid I would've made up a backstory for every pony we see for more than a few seconds.
