@ Ginger, that's the thing. Touhou doesn't really have much appeal on it's own, at least not for me. I've played some of the games, and they're an interesting diversion. It's just that the fandom has something for everyone. I'm in it for the music, some people are in it for the art, others for the funny characters, others for the awesome characters, others for the horror possibilities, others for the fantasy setting, and so on and so forth. The fandom has simply reached critical mass, and the fanon so far outweighs the canon in terms of size and scope that you honestly don't need to have ever played any of the games to be a Touhou fan.

I only ever heard about Touhou when I became a member of this place some years ago and I've hated it ever since. when the descriptor is "Flying Lolis" then I know I'm going to hate it.

I don't think you have the option not to.

Although I don't think ponies have the tech level needed. Play it safe and use magical fireflies or something.

Touhou has always been something I've heard of but never known what it was. Like pretty much everything anyone ever mentions on this site because I've only watched 3 or 4 Anime series and almost no Manga.

Tohou is the game with the ridiculous amounts of shit on-screen, right? Like, even by Bullet hell standards? As in, you're one pixel off pattern and you're dead?

Not sure what to think of those. I've only ever seen videos of the later levels, so it could very well have a reasonable difficulty curve, but seeing the massive, insanely level of skill required to beat the game makes me cringe on a professional level.

But at any rate, Ginger's right. This is not the thread to be talking about another fandom. We should move on.
