Tohou is the game with the ridiculous amounts of shit on-screen, right? Like, even by Bullet hell standards? As in, you're one pixel off pattern and you're dead?
Not sure what to think of those. I've only ever seen videos of the later levels, so it could very well have a reasonable difficulty curve, but seeing the massive, insanely level of skill required to beat the game makes me cringe on a professional level.
Most of the games have a decent curve, with a spike around Stage 4 (of 6). It becomes more about memory and strategy than split-second reaction, though the latter thing still factors.
