Yeah, it does. For a second I wondered if I had derped on the artist's name when I looked at it.

I don't think so, just that religious traditionalists are more easily molded into prejudice and fanaticism which I can't stand as a secular humanist. To be fair, humans in general are pretty open to indoctrination especially at an early age.

And that's all I have to say on the subject.

@Dark Whoo! Thanks for that just what I needed. Right now I'm gonna slow things down now and probably watch a bit of Spectactular Spider Man in just a min. So I think I'm gonna go downstairs get some water and then come back up for an episode of Spidey.

You may be conflating cause and effect there a bit, but, hey. Not really the place for that sort of discussion.

@Dark: I think it's more that when it happens in a religious context it gets attributed to the religion, whereas when it happens in a secular context it's often attributed to other factors. A lot of the time the person would have been an ass either way; but if they're brought up in a religious setting, the religion gets blamed when in reality they'd still have been a jerk regardless of the circumstance.

But we're getting offtopic here.

@CDRW: Yeah, at first I thought you had written the wrong name.

It's the less than noble people who sometimes teach the religion, I don't have a problem with religion in general. But yeah, some people are just jerks.

Now for something not related to the above, this would make a great theme for a magical filly anime.

watching the first Tinkerbell movie now. my first thought: fairies are small. i mean, barely breaking two inches tall on average. i always knew they were tiny, but it's been a while since i've seen Tink stand next to anything for scale.

Evening everypony. What's going on?
Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.

nothing you want to get caught up in, Orion. i'm currently watching a movie i never thought i'd watch.

I actually remember starting to watch the first one of those a few years ago... I stopped watching it, not really because it was BAD, per se, but rather because I felt like it should be bad, I guess? I may actually give it another shot some time. How is it so far?

Well of course you're going to have some less than noble folks trying to utilise religion to their advantage, Dark. It's human nature and if it weren't religion, then it'd be politics or anything else that grants them power over others. Still, for all the bad ones there have been some religious leaders who actually follow the example of what they preach and attempt to do good works. Anyway, I'm going to place the topic over here and treat it as if it were any unexploded bomb. By which I mean I will not touch it again, lest it go off.

Tink really works as a Wrench Wench and a plucky girl personality. I was the same way, but shortly after Fi M's second season, I realized there was a huge mine of awesome girl cartoons for me to watch and enjoy now that I was open to the possibility.

I admit I chuckled at this. MLP certainly would be different if Go Nagai had a hand in it.

[up]huh, sounds kinda fun. The only cartoon for girls I watched as a kid was Jem, and that was mainly because it was on the same slot as Robotix.

You know, I would think it's funny that there's a Spike/Spitfire story in fimfiction's featured box, and one that has a relatively believable premise too, but I still can't get over the feeling of wrongness that comes up whenever someone ships spike with an adult and I don't want to.

I just don't see Spike working much as a shipping character to be honest.

@CDRW: Even though Spike is considered a baby, he's only a little over half of Twi's age as of now.

that would put him around... twelve-ish. the age we estimated the CMC to be.

Yeah, I mean, no matter how you call it he's still only good for a Toy Ship at best. I mean, age-wise. I suppose he's viable for any given ship you want, even if that is... weird.

Hey Orion, right now I'm chilling right now and I may want to think about drifting off to sleep so I'm just gonna chat for a bit and then head off for the night. Anyways I have a question for you.

Spent the last hour or so looking for a decent cover of This Day Aria, and yeah it's exactly as I believed. Most people don't have the voice for the song, those who do, don't have the style, and the few who come close don't realize that "interpretation" is a little more than just adding ornamentals wherever you like. I'm seriously considering reviving my idea to record a male version of the song just so I can show people what I mean.

This is the best one I've found though. I don't quite like her voice, but she can sing and I think she does a good interpretation.
