It's a pun I love because the writers had the guts to do it but it grates on me. I have mixed feelings on that pun. I me a I love it so much I sometimes replay it in my head on a loop. And yet.... How can I live with myself for enjoying such terrible wordplay?

I'm oftentimes depressed by the amount of hatred emnating from the youtube comments regarding characters like Gilda, Trixie, and Blueblood. It's like they honestly hate them to the point of being really pissed off about it

That's such a weird reaction to me. They're antagonists, they're not supposed to be likable (although I think Trixie is anyway) but that doesn't mean they aren't entertaining.

Honestly, Gilda always bugged my a little. Just the way she tried to be cool all the time grated on me. I still want her to show up again because I think she's got some great storyline potential with Dash.

This is a horrible pun and I hate myself for liking it.

just a lisp no, but her voice would be grating to me even without it, the lisp just pushes it past the boundary of tolorability.

I have a love/hate relationship with puns. The only ones I actually like are the ones that are just so contrived and horrible that they go straight past So Bad, It's Good and into awesomeness territory. But the vast majorities of standard puns just feel like filler to me. As far as I'm concerned, the best puns are the ones that are situation specific and could not possibly work in any other context. Multi-context puns tend to be overused and end up in "okay, that was just lame" territory most of the time.

As far as the antagonists go:

• Trixie was a bitch, but a very entertaining bitch because of her Large Ham tendencies.
• Blueblood is a douche, but I can't really hate him because Rarity kinda brought it on herself by hanging out with him the whole time
• Gilda is totally and irredeemably evil because she made Fluttershy cry is probably my least favorite, mainly because she wasn't as entertaining as Trixie or Blueblood. I felt like she overdid the "cool" personality, but didn't overdo it enough to be funny. I don't hate her, per se, but I didn't think she was that interesting.

EDIT: I was okay with Twist, although I think the lisp would have gotten grating if she would have had a lot of screentime. I've never really understood why people consider speech impediments to be cute.

^I never liked Trixie very much, probably because "Boast Busters" is one of my least favorite episodes of the series. It strikes me as rather weak somehow.
