Morning: I seriously doubt they were terminate something that's making them so much money.

EDIT: Party Cannon Page-topper.

[up] yeah, but you never know. The reason we got a Series Fauxnale is that hasbro waited too long before renewing FIM or another season.

I really really hope s4 isn't the end.

They did renew it, however, so it's likely they look upon it favourably enough to keep it going for as long as it remains profitable.

You know what that means: Get ye some swag!

I wonder if the comics will continue on past the eventual end of the show.

[up] Its possible, but they said they would wait to see how S4 does before adding twilicorn, so we don't know if they will continue on from there.

@ whats

I sure hope so. I will need a regular dose of pony.

Honest bets guys, how long do you think the show has left?

I don't know. Judging from how long the g3 specials had been out (And the fact that G2 started on the Franchise 10th anniversary) I'd say 5-7 years.

And we're three years in already...but...they surely weren't as popular or as profitable as this generation right? grin

Its hard to say. G1 lasted for ten years, but had different toy and animated continuities, not counting the books and comics which were all different from each other. So who knows how long it'll last.

Most likely not, thanks to the magic of the internet.

This G has also been profitable enough for a theatrical movie(Well, TV movie with a theatrical release anyway) which I think only G1 has managed thus far. Plus the comic book...

I think this generation will, at least in some form, last a solid few more years. 3-5, perhaps. BUT, I think this gen is also gonna become an inspiration for the franchise. We may see this going the way of Transformers or Ninja Turtles, where most new series are variations on this core cast. Though to be frank, I'm not sure how I'd feel about that.

That could go either way tbh.

But I do think that G4 should now be 'the' generation, as it's the best developed.

Well, most of the cast names and some personality started in G3 and 3.5, so it's already happened once. But it's really been a revival, the franchise hasn't done this well since the beginning.

It's honestly kinda impossible to judge, as no previous generation has been even close to this popular. They'll probably keep it going as long as possible. I just hope it doesn't become a Franchise Zombie.

I guess tweaks here and there would keep it fresh. I mean, one day the mane six's story will be finished but they have a whole setting here...one day, Twilight may have a student of her own for example.

I understand that we have a season 4 release date, and the children of the night animation was finally finished. It's been an eventful couple of days.
There is a tumblr about an insane thread about ponies.

That could be a possibility. Avatar did it with Korra, and it seems to be working nicely.

I'd personally rather have a spinoff dealing with an entirely new cast. And preferable set in a different location. Like in Manehattan or something, just for a change of pace.

I'd like to see that. The CMC, Babs, and her friends have adventures together.

CMC in college would actually be a helluva show.

IT'd be interesting to see them deal with legit college-age issues, too. Like, maybe they had to move to different cities, and they make a Letter To Celestia segment out of them keeping in touch, or summat? Still, I'm not a huge fan of... what's the term... cast circles? I guess?

Cast Herd is probably what you're looking for. While I agree that it would be really interesting to have a show about that; I think it's probably too far outside the show's primary demographic. The children that it's aimed at aren't really going to be thinking about college-age issues.

They could it like Pixar did the Toy Story movies: Release the new series when the kids who grew up with the first one are old enough to relate to it again. So like... give or take eight years? Hopefully there'd be another spinoff before that...

Like the Snips and Snail variety show.
