Aw man, I see that I managed to kick off a CCG discussion that I had to miss entirely due to work. Maybe next time.

So, I thought up of some random fights between various ponies and various fictional characters. Out of the characters I've listed here, who would win in a fight? As for why they would fight eatchother, who cares? It's just a what if scenerio:

• Twilight Sparkle vs Harry Potter.

• Rainbow Dash vs the Sonic Satam version of Sonic.

• Rarity vs Rouge the bat.

Four months is nothing to me after waiting 2.5 years for new Venture Brothers.

I'm gonna go with Rouge in the Rouge vs Rarity scenario. Rarity's magic is fairly limited, whereas Rouge was a playable character in at least one 3D Sonic game, so she must have some combat skills.

Now, if they were to have a fashion battle, the outcome is less certain.

Don't worry, I borrowed one from Iris wildthyme. Hope you don't mind em smaller on the inside.

Twi would kick Harry's ass no problem, Rarity would beat Rouge easily if she's not distracted, and I'd say it would be a tie between Rainbow and Sonic.

@Marston: Harry would beat Twilight. Twi falls apart and forgets she has magic whenever she's in a dangerous circumstance, whereas Harry has plenty of combat experience and access to a whole bunch of One Hit K.O. spells.

I don't know about the Sonic ones.

Twilight anhililates Harry pretty easily. Her reactions are too good. Plus she's WAY more durable and physically strong.

Actually, that's a good point. Assuming they're in character.

But mostof Harry's OHKO spells are either OOC for him to use, or have been shown to only normally be OHKO. Hagrid shook off several stunners, for example.

Match 1) Harry Potter has been shown to be both willing and able to use the Unforgivable Curses in dire circumstances, so if we're talking a Death Battle type of scenario, Harry wins. Otherwise, probably Twilight, since she'd likely be a match for Harry, power-wise, but likely has a much larger repertoire of spells at her disposal, due to how studious she is and how studious Harry isn't.

Match 2) Don't know about SATAM Sonic's specific abilities, but if he's not allowed access to his Super Sonic form, I'd give it to RD, since being able to fly is a pretty big tactical advantage. Otherwise, Sonic wins.

Match 3) Rouge may be able to fly, but Rarity can use magic, so even basic telekinesis can probably keep Rouge grounded. However, I'd probably have to give the win to Rouge, since she actually fights regularly, whereas Rarity would probably rather whine complain her way out of a sticky situation.

Twilight ignores Harry in favor of a make-out session with Hermione. Harry Avada Kedaveras her in a fit of jealousy, and Hermione reveals that it was her plan to act as a distraction all along. She can't get the taste of Twilight's lipstick out of her mind, though. It tastes like Celestia.

As said, Twilight's way too fast for Harry to win as long as Twilight remains cool and collected. She can catch Rainbow for goodness sake!

@Wryte and Irish Zombie: But Rarity can actually fight pretty well even with limited magic. Just look at how well she did during the changeling fight in the S2 finale.

And yeah, the Satam version of Sonic doesn't have a super mode. I just picked him rather then the games version since he's more similar to RD in terms of ability {And personality too, but that's irrelevent for a fight like this}.

More seriously, though, while Rarity can fight if she has to, Rouge just has more experience in combat than she does (well, unless there's something about Rarity's past we don't know about).

@Sereg: I'm not so sure about that. I mean, I can't recall any specific time Twilight displayed a remarkable reaction time, and Harry actually has had training in magic dueling. I still think Twilight would win outside of a Death Battle, since she can do pretty much everything Harry can and more (outside of the Unforgivable Curses).

Rarity can fight...that is a mean right hook...very attractive in a lady.

@Irish: She can react to Rainbow. That requires pretty good reaction time. Plus she was able to counter Trixie's throws with her spells. And A Canterlot Wedding shows that she can spam her spells pretty well.

Her spells also didn't do much damage.
