@Kuroi: Pykrete pretty much has it down. Any given game can by anywhere from extremely low scoring to extremely high. I'd say the average would probably put both teams in the 10-20 point range, one or two touchdowns and a few field goals.
@Kegisak: That's definitely true, but I tend to be more forgiving towards it when compared to say, baseball, because most of the downtime is spent strategizing. American football is kinda like an RPG sport; you take a lot of time to determine your moves because each one is really important. Basketball and soccer would be more analogous to an action-oriented game, you're always doing something, but that something is often very repetitive.
