I've seen Soccer used a lot in Disney Channel Originals, actually.
Not really since soccer/football is usually viewed as girl's sport in the US.
That's the first I've heard of that.

Yeah, most instances I've seen of soccer in American TV shows usually involve kids or teenage girls.
I want to see Equestria Girls, dammit. Hasbro, why won't you let us give you our business?
I wanted to see it yesterday but the theater was sold out. Hopefully I can see it today.
I guess us UK folk will be waiting the fall.
You mean in terms of getting to see EQG?

This makes me sad. I can't avoid spoilers forever.
I'm poor. There's no point mugging me.
You could sit in a freezer for 2 months.
I managed to avoid Bioshock spoilers for several years. Then again I wasn't part of the fandom.

My head is full of pony!
Season 3 rewatched. Still best and my favorite season.
I'm going to miss unicorn Twilight, but I still want to see Alicorn Twilight in future eps.
Now months of waiting for new season.
Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.
Mio has a pretty good handle on how Soccer is viewed here. When I was growing up it was something that was common for everybody through high school, but once you get to college level it diverges a bit by gender. Girls got soccer, volleyball and softball, while guys got football, basketball, and baseball. The only sport I know of that got basically equal press for both genders is tennis.
The perception is probably improving somewhat, but that was the general stereotype, yes.
Yeah soccer/football is gradually getting more popular, but it's an uphill battle. Mainly because most Americans consider a sport where a 90 minute game only has like 4 goals to be boring.
Four goals in a game sounds like far too many for Football.

I'm one of those people, but then again I just don't watch much sports in general.
