Less so nowadays, now that the US usually gets into the World Cup on a regular basis. The sport is growing.

Yeah, most instances I've seen of soccer in American TV shows usually involve kids or teenage girls.

I think a more accurate statement is that it's considered a sport that only young kids play before "graduating" to more mainstream sports, and since most of those are male dominated you usually see only female athletes playing it at higher levels.

Season 3 rewatched. Still best and my favorite season.
I'm going to miss unicorn Twilight, but I still want to see Alicorn Twilight in future eps.
Now months of waiting for new season.
Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.

Mio has a pretty good handle on how Soccer is viewed here. When I was growing up it was something that was common for everybody through high school, but once you get to college level it diverges a bit by gender. Girls got soccer, volleyball and softball, while guys got football, basketball, and baseball. The only sport I know of that got basically equal press for both genders is tennis.

Yeah soccer/football is gradually getting more popular, but it's an uphill battle. Mainly because most Americans consider a sport where a 90 minute game only has like 4 goals to be boring.
