A unicorn with artificial wings... or a pegasus with an artificial horn.
And, since today is apparently National Jump To Conclusions Day...

They're pretty common. Am I the only one who's had things like these??

I've never heard them referred to that though. We call them hard candies.

@Applelight: I've given my answer in the fanfic thread.

I thought you guys were more British than American-influenced.

This is complicated to answer.

Our lexicon is closer to the British one than the American one, but includes some American words that aren't British and some words that neiter of you have. The more stable parts of our culture hav more British influences, but we're a real hodge-podge. Our popular culture is more American influenced and we become more American inluenced with each generation and this affects our lexicon as well.

Biggest illustration.

In Britain, a "cookie" is what Americans would call a "cupcake".

In America, a "cookie" is what the British would call a "biscuit".

In South Africa, a "cookie" has the British definition for my parents' generation and for my own, it basically has the American definition but is a bit more specific. We would say, "A cookie is a type of biscuit."

@Syd

I think that before the tribes, alicorns were the norm. One day, a trickster god gave ponykind a choice: Mind, Earth or Wind?

Those who chose Mind lost their wings and became unicorns, those who chose Wind lost their horns and became pegasi and those who chose Earth lost both, becoming Earth Ponies. Finally, he chose two fillies, and gave them massive power, before cursing them with immortality, and giving them the duty to rule the Mutilated Hordes and raise the Heavenly Bodies.

The Founding of Equestria we're shown was what happened when the Sisters left, trying to fight the god to save their people. They failed to destroy him and save their people, but they managed to lose their own immortality, merely becoming exceptionally long lived. Over the years, they experimented with magic until they found a way to make extremely skilled unicorns into alicorns, using the magic inherent in their systems.

That' is really good.

I once had Jammy Dodger too (those are biscuits, and the phrase ) jammy means unfairly lucky and dodger suggests rouge.

It's a special kind of snack food that also doubles as a Dalek spaceship self-destruct button.

(Well, it really isn't, but the Doctor had them going for a while.)

Me neither. I was going to ask if they were like Jolly Jammers.

Also, could someone tell me if it makes sense for Keep Calm and Flutter on to have taken place before Nightmare Rarity?

Thanks. I figured it had the double word thing, it sounded like an Earth Pony name, and was a hard candy. Found it on a wikipedia list for different candies. Plus you could work in a Jolly Roger pun in there.

I have my own theory about alicorns, but I've already mentioned it.

When was Nightmare Rarity?

I haven't been reading the comics, so I don't know where Nightmare Rarity fits in the timeline.

When was Nightmare Rarity?

That's what I'm trying to find out.tongue

I know that it was before Magical Mystery Cure and it must have been after Magic Duel (and Luna Eclipsed), but I don't know enough to pin it down further.

Oh, we have awesome stuff for you to try!

Do we even know if the comics fit into the show's canon?

They're trying to prevent the comics from contradicting canon at least.

Jolly Jammers

They're delicious!

@Jolly Jammers. That's pretty much what a Jammy Dodger is except it doesn't have a face. Just a heart in the middle.

When I went to America I developed a minor addictions to pretzels. Salty, yet delicious.

@Nightmares Arc's place at the timeline: I'd peg it before Keep Calm And Flutter On but after Apple Family Reunion, and maybe Spike At Your Service
