There was a special Twilight/Flim subtext for people who've seen The Music Man.

From the sounds of things, the writers didn't really seem to care about Flash. If I understand this correctly, it seems like the whole romance plot could have been cut from the movie with little effect on the plot. Which is better than a Romantic Plot Tumor, IMO. Shame the same thing can be said about Sunset. She sounds genuinely interesting.

Phew. No Flash in Season 4.

Well, long as they keep it to EQG and don't even hint at something like that in the real show. If it's that bland and barely there, yeah thinking it was a marketing guy saying "Add a boyfriend."

@Princess: I wouldn't necessarily say that. Flash does actually prove fairly useful to the plot because of his burgeoning relationship with Twilight. It's dubious of course if they could have done the same without him, but to say he's only there for the romance and that the could have been cut with no ill effects is an exaggeration I think. Same goes with Sunset Shimmer. We won't be seeing anything from her for at least 2.5 years, but she definitely had some level of impact and usefulness, and if this was meant to spawn a new series in Canterlot High she'll be a big part of it and fairly interesting.

Well, his pony!self does show up in Equestria in the beginning and end of the movie.
