Random thought.
For a show centered around friendship, the bond between each other is a lot weaker than I saw in other works.
However, I have to give a credit for this series for showing and developing such a strong friendship...in a mostly slice of life series. It is considerably easier to show strong friendship in a setting with constant armed conflicts and fights. On the other hand, I don't think I ever saw such a friendship in primarily SOL show.

I can't blame you there. I mean it's not great - If I had to compare it to an episode I'd say maybe the Equestria Games one - lots of good jokes, plus some really good music, but nothing really stand-out. Sunset Shimmer turning into a demon was kinda cool though.
I'd advise maybe checking out a few clips on youtube wen they surface. Like, don't force yourself or anything, but I think it's at least worth giving a chance.

I actually liked Games Ponies Play, though I think I liked it more then most other people did so probably not a good comparison. I'll wait for some clips. Maybe they will succeed at intriguing where the spoilers failed.

Well, Jury's still out on that - Dreamy Cutebottom is still kinda set up for season 4, so I dunno.
I liked Games Ponies Play too, but like I said, I didn't think it was great. Good, entertaining, nothing grand.

The plot of Games Ponies Play has been done countless times before, but I still enjoyed it. Not one of my favorites, but it has its moments.
So the guy people have been calling "Brad" is called "Flash" in EQG? Probably a nickname, like Flash Thompson in Spider-Man.

From what I'm hearing it's a storm of tired cliches brought up to watchable mediocrity interspersed with genuinely amusing moments brought about by a great studio, capped off with painfully by-the-books and undeveloped villain, love interest, and ending.
So, pretty much the best-case of what I was expecting. I may or may not bother watching it and I really hope they don't follow up on said love interest like implied without some serious work on giving him dimension.
