Heck, at this point there's more fan content than official content, so the fanbase should be able to coast for years on that. Yeah it will eventually diminish, but there will still be plenty going on for several years after the show ends.

I think it will just depend on how good the franchise is after this series ends; if they manage to keep the goodness up, Hub will have themselves a fanbase that will stay around for a lifetime. ^_^

I'd like to think we'd evolve into that type of fanbase, one that stays around with the entire brand and keeps on chugging. Kinda like the Star Trek fanbase. Which I constantly use as an analogy. I hope we do that; we are too good to die. It would be just another step in our evolution; first this series, then the entire franchise, then the internet, then THE WORLD!!!!

Yeah, if Hasbro makes sure that subsequent series are even remotely comparable to this one, I think the MLP fandom isn't going anywhere soon.

How self-sufficient is Touhou's fanbase? And if we go on for a full third season, we may just become a self-propelling machine.

I mean, we've only gone one and......a few episodes of a second season, and look at us! Imagine us in a few years! XD

A bit late, but yes, chicken pox can be pretty miserable. I had a sore throat the whole time. I am glad there's a shot because I wouldn't wish it on anyone except maybe jerks.

Well last season was 26 and I think they've said this season will be the same. They'll probably stay in the mid twenties each season.

Personally, I'm still a fan of the theory that when AB gets Cutie Pox, the other two will try to try their darndest to get infected as well so they too can get marks, even if they're not 'real'.

It might be a bit tough to explain.

And yeah, 26 episodes is likely for this season, and if I remember correctly, a third season has been confirmed, so we're good to go for at least another year. And if the fandom continues churning out material at the rate we've been going, it'll probably be self-sustaining by that point.

the guy that took over for Lauren was asked about a third season at the last Bronycom, he said if he answered that he'd get fired. i'm taking that to mean, yes there is a third season panned, but it's not set in stone yet.

I can't imagine why they'd stop at this point. How often does one of their shows have this kind of absurd runaway success? All these bronies sure as hell aren't going to stick around to watch Strawberry Shortcake if MLP gets canceled.
