Regardless of whether you actually feel ill, they don't want you around a bunch of other kids when you're contagious.

Unless you're seven it's for the best. It's a lot worse for adults since it can lead to pneumonia.

I know I had it at some point, but I don't remember what it was like. I was like five.

Anyway, my guess is more that Sweetie Belle and/or Scootaloo will be pissed at Apple Bloom for not being able to help. It would be more in character for Scootaloo to be angry about it than for AB to abandon her friends.
