I just hope Chrysalis stays ignorant about the concept of love. She may be evil, but she's smart. If she bothered to learn, it could be very disastrous.

I was wondering if I should mention that outright, but decided against it for whatever reason.

But yes, that is a very good moment to illustrate what I'm talking about. Both times she was confronted, she lost because of her own ignorance.

She refuses to understand what love is, and as such didn't believe that Cadance would be able to bring Shining Armor back from the brink the way she did.

Similarly, both she and Twilight gained incredible power from the Secretariat Comet, but Twilight understood how to use it.

Ultimately, she is a thief, nothing more.

Not to metion the chances of it backfiring. What if the Changelings turn on you and remodel their society into one of self-sufficiency instead of turning into an infinite-power army?

On a diffrent note, I've noticed something about grimdark fanfics: Out of any of the mane 6, AJ is possibly the only one who hasn't gotten a infamous fanfic that derails her into either a psychopathic monster or at least very mentally insane {RD has Rainbow Factory, Fluttershy has Pattycakes even though that fic might actually be a parody, Pinkie has Cupcakes, Twilight has Serving and Recconection along with some other fic that I can't remember, and I'd rather not name the fic that did this to Rarity}. I guess that for once her more level-headed personality actually helps her, huh?

The issue is that if you each he race how to love, there's the real chance that a large faction will decide to just go out and find someone to love them back and live a life of self-sufficiency. You could easily lose a massive portion of your potential fighting force.

Unless I make desertion punishable by individualisation then death.

If they're a hive mind, surely gaining an identity, having it be known to the others, then be killed as an individual would be putting the message across.

And hey, if they kill each other in a civil war, I can go find another race...

Oh there's a ton of ironic voice roles. Go to the trivia tab of the MLP G3 page and prepare to have your mind shattered into a million peaces.

Not to mention the fact that G4 Spike is G3 Rarity, and they sound almost exactly the same with a bit of pitch-shifting.

They aren't a hive mind. The existence of individual generals in the Crhysalis faction's army is proof enough of that. The rank-and-file, too, show obvious signs of sapience and individual thought.

How could a hive-mind creature reliably take over a pony's life, even with a perfect external disguise?

I met Cheerilee once. Lovely girl, until I showed her that fic.

She didn't talk to me anymore after that, and then some offical types roll up and say that I'm not allowed near kids anymore.
