Sombra apparently loves picking his nose with his tongue.

I've literally never heard anyone call Iron Will a legitimate villain. Antagonist, yes, which is what he is. Plenty of the Mane 6 have served as antagonist before, it's not the same as villain.

And the complaints about Sombra aren't that he didn't do anything, its usually about how he's boring and has no personality.

[up][up]I personally found Iron Will to be fairly likable honestly. It makes me wince to see the fandom thinks Sombra is sympathetic and Iron Will as a total monster.

(Speaking of Iron Will, kinda bummed to not see many pics of him.)

@Yahoo Article: Wat.

To be fair, I did just accidentally mistype "Luna Eclipsed" as "Luna Eclopsed."

Yeah, I'm gonna tell myself that wasn't a Freudian Slip.

[up][up][up]I don't see IW as that much of antagonist. And people have habit of refering to show antagonists as villains.

And people do complain about Sombra don't doing anything (that he only was cloud for some time and says only Crystals)

Why do people write Applejack and Applebloom as using "ya'll" to refer to a single person?

I was under the impression that "y'all" can be either singular or plural. I realize that "you all" is plural, but I know people that use "y'all" to refer to a single person all the time.
Oh, no! They've all transformed into giant, Swedish, lederhosen-clad yodelers! Run!

Sombra did little during his on-screen appearances, this is true... most of his actions, and his personality for that matter, were setup before the episode... which actually tells us a LOT about him. The mere fact he went out of his way to have a triply redundant security system puts him miles above the other villains thus far. The only other villain who had even a semblance of a plan was Chrysalis, and even then she was pretty shoddy at holding it together.

In terms of what he did, Sombra was easily the best villan... but I'll admit in terms of watchability, he's not much to speak of.

If there is a villain with Sombra's effort and Discord's personality, it would be a great villain.

Then again, someone like him/her would be too smart for this show.

[up][up]My opinion on that whole issue: Sombra wasn't a bad character, he was a secondary character. If he'd had Discord's screen time, and we still only knew as much as we do now, that would be bad writing. As-is, he did his job; he was a threat that existed so the story could progress.

Agreed. Although, I do kinda wish he HAD been a front-and-center villain... I've even begun to warm up to his design after seeing it in action, which is odd because I found it really grating when I first saw it.

That anypony/everypony can be annoying some times in fandom. In show ponies use anyone/everybody when non ponies are around, but in fanworks some times ponies act like they don't know words like "everybody".

Actually, they're orthogonal. Sometimes they use everypony to refer to non ponies, and sometimes they use everybody when referring only to ponies. There's no consistent rule.

[up]I'm trying to remember, but I can't remember when they said everybody when only ponies were around and I can only remember Garble saying "nopony" when refering to Spike (but if it was mistake it's still fridge briliance since Spike before called pony as insult)

Personally Sombra was the second most entertaining villain for me. Second only to Nightmare Moon.

Sombra is basically a Posthumous Character so its not surprising most of what we know about him is from ancient history. In the present day he's just an evil cloud thing.

I've seen King Sombra being compared to Sauron multiple times. And yes, they do have alot of simularities, including the whole "More of a force of evil then an actual charactor" thing and the fact that when they both died there was only one thing left from them {Sombra's horn, Sauron's Ring}.

Any particular reason as to why his horn wasn't destroyed by the blast, or was that just another LOTR refrence thrown in for good measure? You'd think that it would leave open the possibility of Sombra returning, but since he's been confirmed to be Killed Off for Real......

I think it would have been awesome if Sombra was killed like villains in Digimon franchise: Disintegration

Sauron was apparently what they wee going for.

The problem is that we've come to expect complex personalities from most of our ponies and so a viollian whose character wasn't promenintly displayed comes off as dissapointing.

Considering he'd grown back from a fragment of his horn earlier in the episode, it was a pretty poor way of them trying to imply he was dead.

[up] Really, we appreciate complex personalities? Last I checked Discord was the most popular villain who boils down to just doing things for the lolz.

Fortunately, out threads Sombra has a bit more of a personality.

I'm trying to remember, but I can't remember when they said everybody when only ponies were around and I can only remember Garble saying "nopony" when refering to Spike (but if it was mistake it's still fridge briliance since Spike before called pony as insult)

It actually happens quite a few times, but I don't remember when specifically. I'd have to watch through all the episodes to see.

[up][up] No no! It's perfect for when you're posting something that you know the next person is going to write a long, meandering rebuttal to what they think you're writing instead of what you actually are.

So yeah, it probably wouldn't be too useful, since the people in On Topic are allergic to humor.
