I'd say jokes are translated pretty darn well.

As for AJ, I like the original voice because it had more, how do I say, energy in it? The same goes to Rainbow.

@Syd: I didn't notice any scenes that were cut, but I did notice a few places where they cut out just a second or so. Like when AJ is going to round up the bunnies and calls to Winnona, they took out a reaction shot of the dog. I remember noticing a few small things like that.

Yeah, I miss Rainbow's scratchy voice.

I think it's less a matter of accent and more that AJ's English voice was a bit heavier. Japanese AJ sounds a bit too high-pitched. RD actually got pitched down a little, and I think it works.

Yeah I find it hard to even imagine a voice that could work as well for Dash. She had such a unique and perfectly descriptive voice for her character that I liked her immediately from her first line. By the time I was through with her first scene, I was certain she would be my favorite character.

Japanese Rainbow just sounds like a pretty ordinary girl from what I can recall.

Rainbow Dash's voice is just so perfect that I never expected any superior dubbing in regards to her.

Personally, I would have liked Houko Kuwashima as RD's voice. Still not as good as the original, yes, but...

@Blue - I looked up Wikipedia and it doesn't show any date yet. From the page though, I got a rather interesting bit:

@Kyler: They didn't, and that kind of disappoints me. My best guess is that they wanted to keep all of them understandable for the target audience across the country... or something. Even though Dashie uses slang and such.

@story: Yeah, right after the bunny stampede. I went back and checked the original version because I couldn't remember if she did it there too, but in the English version she was humming some generic tune.
