s1e19 and 20. I'll try to set up a test stream with plug.dj, but I'm still leaning towards Google+ Hangouts for the stream since it's fairly stable, resource hogging aside.

It's not as memorable IMHO. I'm thinking now that Mystery Cure was spent the most on during production especially the extra touches of animation and making the whole thing a musical, so the others suffered. It's a very solid season, but nothing very outstanding like season 1 or 2. I couldn't have been the only one to wonder when the good bits would happen about halfway through the season?

Two of my favorite episodes of the show were in Season 3 so I have to disagree. I think I just don't remember that well because I sort of checked out of the fandom and just more or less stopped thinking about the show after season 3, so it sort of went blurry for me.
I definitely remember Magic Duel and Wonderbolt Academy though, they were great.

To be fair, that's the first time the site has given me that sort of trouble. If plug.dj were as troublesome as, say, Mumu Player was, I wouldn't recommend it in the first place

For some reason, Magic Duel didn't do much for me. It was cool I guess, but nothing very interesting or noteworthy happened. Eh, it could just be that it looked more impressive as I've heard the magic was done in a much more distinctive style, so that probably contributed.
As for individual episodes, it has One Bad Apple andSleepless in Ponyville which are on my top five list best in the series

Nah, it wasn't really the visual effects that did it for me.
1) the episode focused on the entire cast rather than just 1 or 2 girls for once, even if it did focus more on Twilight. It also spared the time to focus on a fan favored character (even though I never cared much for Trixie personally, I was happy to see her return for the sake of all those who did, and she was actually entertaining in the latter episdoe) plus Zecora. So basically, really good time management and character focus unseen in most episodes.
2) I loved the resolution, which is generally the weakest part of almost every other episode in my opinion. Generally the show goes with exactly what sort of resolution you'd expect, eschewing the creativity used in other aspects of the show. But Twilight defeating Trixie with stage magic was unexpected, cool to watch, ironically satisfying, and actually surprising. I loved it.
