It's possible, but I'd consider it unlikely. They want to make a spinoff, not a sequel series. I could see them doing an AU of FIM in the sense that they could be ponies in the first episode and human for the rest of it, but that doesn't make it any less of an AU. It doesn't mean that EG's continuity is going to bounce back and influence FIM.

Considering they have a fourth season of Fi M in the works I don't think they're going to keep the ponies human in the show proper. ESPECIALLY because the target audience could easily be confused if they rely on each other too much for continuity.

It's hard to see how they can keep EQG in continuity if they want an ongoign spinoff, since it will coexist with the actual show, assuming it lasts past the movie.

Hasbro is crazy, but they're not so crazy as to go through all the trouble of making Twilight a Princess and the very next thing (assuming the TV Movie comes out before Season 4) is make her a high school student and that be canon to the main show for the foreseeable future.

It is an Alternate Continuity. There's no way to make it canon to the main show unless all they were planning on doing was the TV movie and nothing else.

@Morning: I'm still not sure how it follows that mandating they remove something that offended people implies that they'd mandate something else that's a far bigger deal.

There's a difference between bringing back an element from the series proper (Eg. Trixie) and bringing in elements from a different show entirely (suddenly Human!Twilight)

@Rhyme: Yes but it's till continuity involved. On the other hand Given the initial Episodic format (And the likelihood of EQG will go that same path as well. It's likely that nether show will get nod that often (A couple Mythology Gags going both ways but no Ret Cons)

That network has always had quirky ads. They're famous for it here.

My favorite bit is when Pony goes past the horse with a big grin on her face. Then there's the bit with the farmer going past...and for some reason, the ship's horn makes me laugh too.
