Well, we kinda knew what it would look like thanks to the leaked image, the outfits are the same for the most part. The new image might be concept art though (its clearly not a production still from the TV movie). See the Equestria Girls thread for more info.

I actually like those designs. I've always thought that humanised cutie mark should go on the cheek, they look nice and vibrant and I have a thing for pointy ears.

I wasn't really interested in the first place. Fighting games aren't my thing.

Yeah, about the same. I was excited because it was an extremely polished large-scale fan project in a country where those are typically a) shit and b) burned at the stake from square one by the rights holder. I trust it'll be just as full of substance and personality as an independent IP, but I personally wasn't planning on playing it.

Uuuuuuugh. This is reading like a bingo card of ways to make this look as unpromising as possible. It's decent and expressive artwork, but it's the kind that doesn't make a good premise for a series.

Even worse, they're using Twilicorn. I wouldn't care if it was just that, but it implies this is going to be canon continuity.

Dang, I'm gone for one day and all this happens.

My thoughts:

1. It's cool that Faust is getting involved with the FIM crew. It'll be interesting to see what they turn out.

2. I'm kinda ambivalent about the new designs for EG. I'm ambivalent on most of the anthro aspects, and I wish they'd very the clothes a bit more. I'm not a fan of the C Ms on the cheeks either. Never liked facial markings. The body language looks accurate, though.

I think he means that the fact they used alicorn Twilight rather than unicorn Twilight implies that the continuities of the two shows will be linked. I doubt that's the case; all it means is that they decided they wanted to start with a more similar cast to the main show.
