@ Story:

@ Everfree from five pages ago: I figure that weather doesn't normally do that without influence because they're scared of it specifically because it does move without influence. If that was normal why would it scare them so much? Also we know that's where Celestia and Luna used to live so I headcanon that it's a result of the magical battle they had that the area became broken and worked differently to the rest of the world.

I think the Everfree weather is the natural way weather works in Equestria, but the ponies have been controlling weather for so long the natural way is now weird for them.

Sort of like how eating meat raw is the natural way of doing things, but so many of us humans cook it the natural way is weird to us.

IIRC it's Rainbow Dash who brings up the fact the weather moves by itself as being creepy. I figure of all the Mane Six she's the one who knows what she's talking about when it comes to weather. She'd know what'd happen if you didn't control the weather and that the Everfree is just normal then. She doesn't. She considers it an exception to the rules.

Not the same reaction. Feral pigs for example are weird to us, but the concept doesn't freak us out and induce fear.

But a world where the weather has to be controlled by sentient beings from the very start would never come about in the first place. With no rain, no plants wouldn't grow which means the early ponies would starve before they worked out how to control the weather.

Well, the German comics tell us that the weather does work outside of Equestria.

I don't blame Discord, but I do blame something like him. That the world has large deadzones of which Equestria is one where stuff simply doesn't work without help.
