To be fair Raz's hand-thing is a sort of in-joke with the company. It shows up again in Brutal Legends at least. But yeah, Raz had a huge amount of personality. Psychonauts is one of the better example of game-characterization.

There's also the fact that everyman losers tend to lean a lot more heavily on the loser part than the everyman part, and so they end up being pitiful and kind of repugnant. I recall seeing a series that I liked, but couldn't watch because the protagonist was such a putz I couldn't bear to watch him.

I loved Raz's nerdy victory dance.

There's a right and a wrong way to do an everyman loser protagonist. Steve Carell in 40-Year-Old Virgin works because he's a giant teddy bear that you want to root for.

Rob Schneider in The Animal doesn't work so well because he's just an obnoxious douche. Rob Schneider in general tends to have this problem, really.

A south African who sunburn easily... that must Suck pretty hard. I sunburn pretty bad myself - being a Scott and all - but the burn fade into a tan... which then fades back to pale in like, a week.

It's not nearly as bad as when I was young. I'm usually fine as long as I avoid direct sunlight, which I like to anyway. The Sun and I are on less than friendly terms. For part of my Honours degree I used to walk to University at about four AM often and actually enjoyed how pleasant it was at that time.

I'd often get assigned to UV duty when I was tutoring though and that thing can give you sunburn in five minutes, so even with the shield up, I was still burned every time I used that.

I'm pretty pale, but I freckle. I've got so many, they overlap each other.

Despite being British, I tan very well on the rare occasions the sun actually shows its face over here. Maybe I have some Spanish ancestry or something.

Looked at the previews. The writing looks decent enough, although there isn't enough to really say, but that art... That's way to G3.5-ish for my tastes. Their heads just look weird shaped.
