@Pykrete: Kindof like how in Wicked Gilda sings differently when she's being genuine and when she's putting on the nice act: Bubbly and girly for genuine, and operatic-y for the face. I always like that sort of thing, it's a neat idea.

So, I went out and bought the comics today, both the main series and the first microcomic. Haven't read any yet, but I'm looking forward to them. I gotta say, it was kind of hard to choose between all the variant covers for issue one. I ended up going for the Applejack one, but the Twilight and Rarity ones with the princesses in the corners were hella cool.

I have the Rarity one. It's pretty sweet.

I'll probably read them this afternoon. For now I think I'm going to game a little bit. I've got a hell of a hankering to play Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance again, but I can't hook up my gamecube, so I'm gonna try King's Bounty, which has a similar style of gameplay at least.

I wouldn't be able to pick up a physical copy anyhow. The comic stores around here are kinda crap and already don't carry most of the better comics.

I tried Friendship is Witchcraft, and I guess I got a few giggles, but I didn't really find it all that compelling. I think so far, this is my favorite fan-made video.

By the time the one in my area got them in I already had the digital copies.

My favourite is Fimflamfilosophy's various things. Mentally Advanced Series, Rainbow Dash Presents, those shorts he's recently started. All good.

@Dragon Ranger: I'm surprised that they do the recording secessions together. I thought they mostly did solo secession in the North American animation industry.

Most do. It explains why we're often rather bad at it, because without that kind of communication between VA's you get really stilted lines.

It's certainly possible to do without sounding wooden, but it's really important to know the inflection of the previous line.

Now that Twilight Sparkle has become a Princess, how long do you think it'll be before she gets nicknamed Trollight or Mollight? You know, like Celestia being nicknamed Trollestia and Molestia?

Also, do you think Alicorns are born or made? Twilight is definitely an example of "made". Truth be told, we don't really know that much about Celestia and Luna, so maybe they were born that way or maybe they were like Twilight. Cadence seems to be "born", because I'm not sure she could have been made one at such a young age.

It's usually like that everywhere, not just in NA. The fact that the show is animated to fit the voice acting and not the other way around is also a big factor in why doing it the way they do works.
