Fluttershy's parents are kinda quiet like her, and they also have the same legendary temper when roused somehow

Rainbow Dash's parents are awesome, but they tend to embarass her by talking about her filly life and how she used to do silly things.

I'd love the idea of FS's dad being a gentle giant mountain stallion, and her mum being a more outgoing and talkative version of her...with some feirce Mama Bear instincts.

Then again, she is from Cloudsdale...maybe they could be cosmitpolitan types like the Oranges who regret their daughter being a hippy.
