My idea was...

...RD is always crashing into stuff, right? If Ponyville had some sort of Cop, who threatens her with a criminal record for that, when the Wonderbolts do not let criminals into their ranks.....RD would soon learn some respect.

Yeah, Spitfire would probably be willing to let a minor criminal record slide for Rainbow Dash's sake, but Dash doesn't necessarily know that. She'd freak out over anything that she thinks would disqualify her from the Wonderbolts. Actually, that would make a good episode. Probably not with the criminal record thing, but something happens that she thinks will keep her from being able to join and she gets upset over it. Maybe she turns out to be nearsighted or something.

Well obviously a major crime would disqualify her, but this is more along the lines a misdemeanor or "I got drunk and backed my car into a McDonald's" or something.

My personal take on a RD episode would be her actually trying out and having some sort of issues with it. Like part of the tryout involved synchronized flying with other pegasi, and she screws up and causes them to crash or something.

Reminds me of a scene from Little Miss Sunshine, where a character discovers that he's colour blind, and as such, wouldn't be allowed to become a pilot.

That is exactly what I was thinking of, except with something other than colorblindness, because it would be weird if this whole time Rainbow couldn't actually tell that her mane was rainbow colored.

I was just trying to think of something that was a serious crime that wouldn't necessary completely ruin the rest of your life like murder would. Yeah, drunk driving is a serious crime, but it's less likely to result in being rejected for almost every job ever. Although in retrospect, it probably is a bit more major than I was going for. Maybe something like vandalism is closer. Although if RD was ever accused of any crimes, it would probably be either property destruction or reckless endangerment.

Maybe she does another sonic rainboom, but in the middle of a city so it causes a lot of collateral damage. She gets it trouble for shattering every window in a mile radius and starts freaking out.
