A thought occurs...

...Twilight's fellow students at the school seemed to go out of their way to make friends with her...and she never took up that offer...then buggered off to Ponyville.

Think that could be explored?

When I was designing a Foil! Twilight, I made them a fellow student who was more than a little annoyed at being knocked back by her.

But she said that Sweet Apple Acres...they love making new friends.

Our next Big Bad will be Moondancer, who has come to take revenge on Twilight for not going to her party. She also knew about Nightmare Moon's return, and wanted to be an Element of Harmony, and is pissed that Twi just buggered off to make different friends.

She's got character flaws, so she's not perfect, but she has enough good traits that she isn't a flat character like Rainbow. Plus, dat voice.

That's the problem I have with favorites lists. You can like Applejack just a tiny bit less than Rainbow Dash, but if you put Rainbow Dash near the bottom, it looks like you hate Applejack.
