Yeah, I'm all for getting more episodes, but only if they keep up the quality. I'd much rather the show end after 4 seasons and move on to gen5 rather than dragging this one out with decreasing quality.

Ummm, there are plenty of cartoons that keep on going.

The issue that almost everyone is referencing with the "only get 2 seasons" thing, is a DISNEY specific policy of never producing more then the 56 episodes required for syndication for ANY cartoon. Again something specific to Disney.

I do get what you guys are saying though. Don't tell Rainbow this, but I think the quality of the Daring Do books starts to drop at around the sixth book.

That was just a two book phase where the author made it more dark and serious. It got better after that.

Well obviously I don't think they should run the show into the ground. But I'd rather they keep going for awhile and end on a bad season than stop when they still had a good season or two in them. It's easy to ignore a crap season, but you'll never see those good episodes that could have been.

Best example, TNG. The last season had quite a few gems, but overall, you could tell they were running out of ideas. but the good still outweighed the bad. And it went out in one of the greatest Finales any show ever got.

yeah that is the one most often called out as odd. But it went back to form after that.

I could see the show turning into deferent forms, spin offs etc. But I don't want it to end really soon. This show deserves to be a long runner.

I could see the show being a long runner but slowly morphing according to new toylines and eventually even a new generation. Sorta like the G1 Transformers (which similarly only had two seasons with a clear status quo).

This year is MLP's official 30th anniversary (the toys first came out in 1982 but the copyright wasn't finalized until 1983, Hasbro apparently has had copyright/trademark troubles since the beginning), it'd be kinda dumb to end the current show when they could do a bunch of Milestone Celebrations.

Still curious if they intend to celebrate with a TV movie or something.

Arthur has run 15 seasons, and I would consider the following that has developed around that show very similar to this one, at least in some ways. Franklin got six seasons, four movies and a CGI spin-off with two seasons to date.

Legacy of Nightmare Moon isn't that bad. Shrine of the Silver Monkey is arguable the worst. I mean, we learn that there are three pieces of the monkey statue and Daring spends a full chapter putting it together.
