I've seen a couple, but I'm not a big anime fan or anything. Of course I haven't heard of a lot of western shows either.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.

When the Ponies Cry

Taken from the Memes page :V This should give a good idea of what I expect from Fluttershy's dub actress.

This is what I did today, drawing wise. It occurred to me that it's no good drawing static characters when I'm trying to do a comic. I need to practice movement and action.

Especially since, if I remember, it's supposed to be action-adventurey?
You may be right. I may be crazy.
But it just may be a Lunatic you're looking for.

I've always wanted the show to come to Japan. Even though I've never watched a Slice of Life shojo anime or read a manga before, the show just gives me some sort of "eastern" vibe at times. Maybe because it's just because Japan loves cute things.
Be careful around me. I ask too many questions.

Apple: Looks pretty good and you definitely will need to be able to do lots of stuff like that. That said, keep practicing the less dynamic poses, because you'll need those too (they're also easily spiced up with a good facial expression).

Thank you for the support guys. Though I just realized, the hog is at the wrong angle for the direction of the kick. He should be facing the other way.

But, practice will make perfect.

So I've been playing Sonic Rush, and I couldn't help but notice Blaze's story:

It's about her being committed to her duty to save the world, which involves collecting jewels of power (the Sol Emeralds), and being unwilling to make friends, but others try to make friends with her. Blaze tries to lose them in order to get back to her business trying to save the world, but everyone befriends her anyway. Eventually, when she confronts the villain(s) who threaten her world, she tries to use the Sol Emeralds, but apparently, they lack power. But then (with help of her new friends), she realizes The Power of Friendship and uses the Sol Emeralds to defeat the villains.

Then I thought: "Hey, haven't I seen this plot before?" I immediately thought of the 2-part pilot of FiM, then I realized that Sonic Rush was released in 2005 (5 years before MLP's premiere). Sure there are differences here and there, but the key events are pretty much the same.

(And as it happens both Twilight and Blaze are purple, can't forget that).

Night Ace!

Facial expressions I think I can do OK. It's proportions and making it look 'clean' is my two biggest problems.

You've improved a lot in those areas. You'll continue to improve with practice.

I'm trying to think of some anime or something that's comparable to FIM... only thing I can think of off the top of my head is Azumanga Daioh, which has the same "female centric cast with diverse personalities" vibe, although it obviously lacks the fantastic elements of the setting. Yotsuba&! is also kinda similar.

@Applelight: Just keep up the good work.

Huh. Now you've got me thinking if I've ever seen something that is like MLP. I don't think I have.

I can't think of anything similar to it either.

And for my next trick...an EP bucking a Minotaur in the bulls eye.

Let's see, after going through my list on myanimelist.net, I think you might get something lik FIM if you combined aspects from Azumanga Daioh, Galaxy Angel, Nie A Under 7, Nodame Cantabile, Slayers, and Super GALS.

Apple: Both the proportions and cleanness basically come from spam drawing them. The first will eventually become second nature and the second is a function of how confident your strokes are.
