Fluffie Ponies, on the other hand, are ponies that look kinda like Fluffle Puff getting abused and killed. Usually via their own stupidity. Oh, and they have a speech impediment.

Well, I suppose the fascination with them is that in a way, they're ours, particularly Derpy Hooves. If not for bronies, Derpy Hooves as a character has no reason to exist. The googly eyes were a mistake, an animation goof that likely might have never shown up again, and perhaps even her as well as far as showing up again, for that matter.

Clearly, we simply need more Cheerilee.

Seriously, where the fuck has she been this season? She cameo'd in "Sleepless in Ponyville" for 2 seconds and that's it I think.

becuase Doctor Who seems like the biggest show with fandom overlap. many many MANY bronies are also Whovians.

And Derpy....is DERPY! She is basically THE fandom, the idcon of us. Something WE made, a pony that is everything sweet, and loving, and adorable about us. While still being goofy and weird, a bit clumsy. And anything with her and Dinky is just pure unfiltered D'AWWWWWWW

Honestly? I think Derpy would have still had a fanbase if she didn't have derp eyes in the first place. The only edits in Season 1 after the animators caught up were changing her eyes. She (and Raindrops) would have still dropped that anvil on Twilight, give Fluttershy a rose, etc. The main difference would probably be that a different background pony (most likely Lyra, Doctor Whooves, or Vinyl Scratch) would become the fandom mascot and maybe a different Fan Nickname.

But who's to say What Could Have Been? I don't have access to an Alternate Timeline.

@ Eagal Every time Darvos and Daleks for Doctor Whoof are bringed up I like to think about that genotical (technically only their King) penguins from first show. Yes Kaleds would penguins and Daleks would be mutation of them and shoot freeze ray.

I love Doctor Whoof, he was one of thing what keep me interested in series before I become fan and regular watcher. And I will forever headcannon him as real 10th Doctor in pony form. I bet the victory points are different ponies and you have to collect them to score friendship, or something. Or you can attack other players to drive away their friends and You Lose At Zero Trust.

@crowlover: yeah, but a tcg is a way more profitable type of Merch than plain ol' cards with pictures on 'em—you get people who buy them for the pictures/flavor text AND people who actually bother to play the game.
