OK I'll do it. But I'll make it clear it's only light hearted teasing, and not anything serious. It can't be after all...they aren't staying in Ponyville. It's just a bit of fun with the intention of electing some daws from the readers.

But how far is too far? I draw the line at hoof/wing holding, and maybe a kiss on the hoof or cheek. Thats it.

I would say don't second-guess yourself. Just do the ship tease, Apple.

see, a kiss on the hoof would work, cause that's totally just batty being a gentlecolt. and some accidental hoof/wing holding at some point.

make it so that form Batty's end, nothing is going on at all, but Flutters is misinterpreting some stuff he does.

Here's a simple theoretical story outline:

Batty is separated from the crew in the Everfree forest, and is attacked by...something. He puts up a fight, but it's the intervention of Fluttershy that saves him. As the two groups meet and bond/feud, batty and flutters get on very well. As I said, he's immediately struck by her looks, and she's nice enough to not judge him on appearance right away. Actually, would that make sense? Or should she be afraid of him at first?

And when they part, Batty does the whole bowing and kissing her hoof routine and all that.

That could work!

And he insisted upon helping Fluttershy around the house and stuff as payback for her help in the forest.

I'm not being annoying by pushing this am I?

My recommendation is the see whether any character chemistry forms between them naturally and go from there.

If anything, I think Fluttershy would be very ill-at-ease at first. Just, not because of his looks. Remember, she's called Fluttershy for a reason.

oh! and when Batty and crew are getting ready to leave ponyville, Flutters starts to give Batty a whole "you're a great stallion but it wouldn't work, just friends?" speech, only for batty to be real confused. Hilarity ensues!

I still haven't nailed down Batty's personality yet. He's either quiet, brooding and snarky, or a roaring blood knight. Hell, he could be both I guess. Either way, he's a great foil to Fluttershy. Now imagine that little shy girl having this big mutant monster knight acting as her servant.

Re: the anime thing: It can be good or bad depending on execution. There are just lots of anime out there with "Big brutish bodyguard defends a waif" as a part of the plot.

I haven't seen much anime either, but I'm just saying it sounds like a pretty typical anime setup. Nothing meant about actual quality.
