I have my own theory, but I'll keep it to myself.

Next episode will definitely generate a lot of fanfic. It will also joss a lot of fanfic. It has a very high chance of completely jossing my fan series. Oh well. That's what the AU tag is for.

Like I said, I count any fan fic as an AU. And really i don't think any story should be faulted for not including anything that wasn't know at the time. Long as it stays consistent with all available info at the time it was written, all that you can ask.

Also, seems Hasbro is getting more serious about episode take downs, and some fanworks are getting caught in the crossfire due to how horrible a site youtube is when it comes to, well anything involving copyright. But the plus side, it's all automated flags, not Hasbro targeting any fan work, and every thing that's been flagged and disputed and wasn't just a full ep has been put back up.

Well hopefully it won't become too hard to watch the episodes.

Well, the rumor is it's because a few oversees markets they tried to sell it to said basically "Why buy it when we can get it for free." And on the plus side, there's also a rumor of them adding it to Google play, not just i-Tunes. But yeah they need a way for every brony in the world, not just American ones, to obtain it legally before sinking the only available (if illegal) way they have.

But there will ALWAYS be sites with the eps available, it's just youtube is the easiest to find and most known, and the worst when it comes to dealing with stuff like this.

It's not that Youtube is stupid. It's that it is literally impossible to police the millions of videos uploaded to the site every day, and similarly impossible to verify the millions of takedown requests they receive every day. That's why anyone can appeal a bogus takedown of their video and restore it.

Not to mention that the people uploading the videos here are the ones breaking the law.

The issue is youtube will always side in favor of bigwigs, and yes it's tough, but how much money do they make? The real problem is the draconian, indecipherable and plain ridiculous mess that is US Copyright and trademark law.

And yeah I have no issue with them taking down the eps, they should just make sure that the people that have them as their ONLY source of the show have a legal means to acquire them, since I-Tunes eps are only available in the US.

It's a little funny how some folks point out that the Mane 6 has no reason to be afraid of the Timberwolves, because they've beaten tougher than that.

I would point out that those folks are subscribing to what I call "Level Grinding Mentality", and that works fine...if you play a Video Game where go up lots of levels, or get the biggest gun or sword and stomp everything in sight. Alas, MLPFIM is not a video game. Okay, so the ponies have gone up against dragons, Changelings, and Discord. But Timberwolves are...different. Sure, they may be fragile, but those things can pull themselves back together and don't seem to have a reason to eat anything.

That, or deal with the Perfectly Legal Means internet users have come up with over the years.

Well, it's either that or what happens here: Piracy is the norm, most consoles are hacked to play any random bootleg game for the console in question, you can buy entire series with a couple of dollars and there's entire hubs dedicated to pirating absolutely everything under the sun, with not a single dollar ever meeting the author.

I can see why the country that actually hosts the content makers wouldn't want that.

If you have a legal means of viewing the show, you really have no room to cimplain about the youtube eps going down, it's a show, they deserve to make some money off it. The biggest issue is simply, most people don't have the legal means to do so.

and some that do, won't take it because it require using i-Tunes which is a fair point, and will becomes a non-point soon if the Google-ply rumor is true.

@Tiggers: Really, that sort of mentality shows up a lot in discussions of the show. People tend to assume that once a character learns a lesson or accomplishes some sort of personal goal, they've "leveled" up. When in reality, it's still totally possible for them to backslide a bit, forget things, and generally have difficulty maintaining that development. Just because they learned a certain lesson at one point doesn't mean that they're always going to abide by it from that point on.

agreed, the show tries to treat them as realistically as possible, once the fact they are magical ponies is taken into account. Not as characters in a story
