Who be Vasquez exactly? I just imagine she's Latina just because.

Exactly. And as we all know, 'I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed' is punishment in and of itself, especially coming from Celestia. Twilight does deserve a talking-to for her spellwork in "Lesson Zero", though. Mind-controlling an entire town is not okay.

But yeah... Celestia was never going to actually punish her. It's almost Socratic - let them figure it out themselves by making them think. =D

^Vasquez is the hardass Latina Marine from Aliens. She codified the badass female for a long time, as far as I know. (It also makes sense that people feel most comfortable envisioning characters as their own race. That's just natural.)

[up][up] urgh. I HATE "I'm not angry, I'm just dissapointed" reactions. To me they're WORSE than being yelled at

How about both?

Or anger that "mellows" into disappointment?

Ah, right, those movies people always talk about and I've enver bothered with. Ah to be born in the early Ninties and taken away from pop-culture for five years.

@Red Savant, The thing is I don't envision them as my own race, I tend to envision characters as whatever I feel would suit them, like how I kept envisioning Percy Jackson as Latino and Twilight is always Indian to me.

you all are probably right but I'm still not sure. Celestia usually makes a point of telling somepony that thinks they're in for it that she isn't going to do anything. here, Celestia said that's she'd skip the punishment if they all do the reports from now on. I don't see the point in letting them think she was going to punish Twilight when she wasn't.

Well, the thing is, we have no idea what the "punishment" was going to be. For all we know, it might have consisted of a stern lecture, or an extra long friendship report or something.

Guys, incoming weirdness.

I can hear Whitney Houston's I Wanna Dance With Somebody coming from next door.

It would really suit Pinkie Pie I think. tongue

Because she wanted the girls to mount a defense of Twilight, and in so doing, think through what they did to wrong her (writing off her problems). For Twilight herself, Celestia had to give her a stern talking-to for mind-controlling people.

I know there's lots of people who don't like Trollestia, but man, sometimes this show doesn't give you much choice but to take that explanation.

I don't see Trollestia as EVIL so much as...Q. She's Q, if Q were putting on a "Lawful Good" act.

And I love the fandom for it. Trollestia is such a beautiful extrapolation. And much lulz are had.

[up][up][up][up]Because this way, Celestia gets letters from all of them. She loves her some letters. She probably keeps them all in a huge pile and swims through them Scrooge McDuck style.

She's not trolling them, she's getting them to learn a lesson that they need to learn (that they wouldn't if she just told them). Like I said, it's only trolling as far as Socrates was a troll - she makes them think it through, which makes their conclusions, and the lessons learned, stronger.

You know what I think Trollestia would do?

On the last episode of the last season she'd summon Derpy Hooves to her throne room and tell her to start sending letters too. Derpy would get no lines in that episode. Because Trollestia is meta.

I'm late to the "who's skinniest?" conversation, but there was a (since changed) rendition of Rainbow Dash on the characters page where she looked downright anorexic, compared to the others. I believe it was an altered shot from "Fall Weather Friends, " where Applejack was making sure RD couldn't use her wings.

[up][up] I remember that pic.

They had removed the rope, and changed her expression from frowning to smiling.

Anyway, I think Dash is definately the smallest in the group. But the second strongest after AJ.

Wouldn't Twilight be pretty small? AJ reffered to her as a "little pony" in Winter Wrap Up, and she always struck me as a girl who'd be on the weedy side

[up] Yes.

RD would be the shortest, followed by Twilight.

And Twilight would definately be the weediest and weakest. Hell, I think even FS would be stronger than her.
