Or you could just call it science fiction. I don't know why everything needs to be sub-categorized anyway.

Okay, so Applejack repents for putting her family through sweatshop labor by...putting them through more sweatshop labor to rebuild the barn for her.

Yeah, that was dumb. Really, conflict resolution is not this show's strong point.

Basically, I'm just saying what's the point of calling it Steampunk if there's no steam? It's just Victorian at that point.

It wasn't stupid at all. What they were doing before was being overworked with no chance to socialize. The socializing was the important part. While raising the barn, they got to sing and dance and laugh together, as well plenty of plain old socialization, as the photos at the end showed.

I saw it more along the lines that because the barn was important to the Apples, that working together to complete it would be an enjoyable memory for them in comparison to "split up and do stuff." AJ's letter says something along the lines of doing things with people you care about.

[up]This is probably a better answer, actually

I mentally groaned at that part too. Of course this is 'I didn't learn anything' Applejack.

How about a compromise: Steamclockpunk?

That episode bugged me too. The Apples didn't see anything wrong with making people stand in line in the hot sun all day and letting them leave empty-handed? There's so many things they could have done to prevent that. They could have raised the price, limited one per customer, set up a waiting list, or even just do what they did and take on more help.

They really should have just raised the price. That's why Diamond Tiara is so obviously meant for Applebloom. Someone needs to knock some economics into their heads.

I get the idea they were going for of course. I just like making it look horrible for lulz. [lol]

You can't get much worse than "racist barn", really.

Why we don't have 500 racist barn fanfics I'll never know.

Hello everyone. Sorry for ragequitting the thread last night.

In other news, some people are already saying saturday's episode was worse than Mare-do-Well. I have no words. At least, not coherent words.

Oh, the thread? Don't worry, it's just dead.

Everything is worst or best on the Internet. We need to say 'Meh' more often.

Also, 2013 is here soon yay!

[up][up][up]I don't consider those episodes as worst of series so whatever.

Further the whole Herbivores herd animal versus omnivores hunters and more self oriented humans.

Sorry Seraphem, but herbivores are typically more violent than carnivores and omnivores. And herd-mentality encourages xenophobia. Most real-life herds typically consist of family anyway. Real life horses are well known for infanticide, for example.

Anyway, as I've said before, I don't even consider Mare-Do-Well to be on the lowest tier of episodes.

As for the earlier questions about how I rate this season's episodes and the 2-parters, from best to worst:

2-parters:

1. A Canterlot Wedding

2. Return of Harmony

3. Crystal Empire

4. Friendship is Magic

Season 3:

1. Sleepless in Ponyville

2. Magic Duel

3. Wonderbolt Academy

4. The Crystal Empire

5. Spike at Your Service

6. One Bad Apple

7. Apple Family Reunion

8. Too Many Pinkie Pies

Ahoy hoy!

I come baring my work done so far today. As you can see, I royally screwed up the leg there. What happened was, I lost count of the colour I was using for Batty's hide. But I've learnt a valuable lesson...keep track of the colours code!

And I don't think I've quite gotten the hang of shadows just yet...or control of my wiggly lines. But what about the basic concept? I've actually switched Batty's hide and mane colours around, because the red wasn't working too well imo. But what do the rest of you all think?

I think his coat could be a little darker. And he looks a little underfed from that angle. But I like it.

OK, I can darken the coat.

Thing about his appearance, I'm trying to create a heroic build in a pony...and I don't think it's working out. tongue Because as you say, he looks hungry...

And I still think that his mane needs work. I'm started to think that he should have the 'Aragorn/Boromir' type standard fantasy action hero style hair.

Random question.

What do you think is the highest altitude the best flyers in Equestria can hit?

I am guessing 2 miles.

Applejack is meant to be the Straight Man of the Mane 6. The episodes focusing on her more or less show that she is Not so Above It All. While some people may think that the SM is a dull character, let me ask you...what happened to Family Guy when it got changed so that none of the characters were SM?
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!
