I have a feeling that would get meta.tongue
Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.

The last shot of the episode is of a dude watching TV saying, "Whoah." Then the screen snaps black and goes BWOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG!

Great now you guys are making me wish the last episode was Daring Do based, ala Show Within a Show rather than what we got.

The ending should be this.

Still think that's what caused cutie pox to disappear, it was the result of eating vertain herbs and plants together, which are ones that ponies don't cultivate. once they stopped grazing as their primary source of food, they stopped accidentally eating the plants they shouldn't

Except that the only reason the Hearts Desire gave AB Cutie Pox is because she wished for a cutie mark.

I'd love to see an episode about that, except I just know it would cause all sorts of bad blood in the fandom. You'd have a group complaining about the showwriters obviously hate the fanbase, another group that thinks the first group can't take a joke, another group who didn't pick up on the subtext, etc.

In any case, I should really be going to bed soon.

To be truly meta, we need Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash arguing about the story telling devices used in the So Bad, It's Good Daring Do adaptation.

I'm confused about the two separate domain names for Derpibooru and Derpiboo.ru. Is there art that appears on one site, but not the other? I can't even keep up with the uploads to one site, let alone both.

@Syd: Derpibooru currently has a Russian domain (derpiboo.ru) and an International domain (derpibooru.org). Your logon session is not shared between domains.

Why do they use both domains though?

Y'all seen this?

Pretty incredible artwork. I'm not really a fan of steampunk, but well, good art is good art.

The fact that that's called "steampunk" bothers me. What, exactly, is steampunk about it? People seem to have this weird misconception that Victorian clothing = steampunk. Real steampunk is an alternate reality in which steam based technology continues to advance past where it stops in our history, but everything else more or less remains stagnant.

Still amazing art, I just wouldn't call it steampunk.

So I've been gone for a couple weeks and am just getting around to watching Apple Family Reunion and Spike At Your Service. What follows are my musings.

First of which is that yay, Applejack is being responsible!

Second of which is OH GOD WHY ARE YOU TURNING YOUR FAMILY INTO A SWEATSHOP

Where does one draw the line between misuse of a word, and a new alternate definition of it?

@Perpetual Lurker: Your complaints are valid but that artistic aesthetic is what most people mean when they say steampunk these days. The airships add to it as well.

Preferably at least where the word still refers to things that have steam in them.

Of course, the fact that Vinyl's wearing a steam powered mecha-suit, there's a lot of mechanical wings in there, and Lyra has steampowered cyber-hands means it's probably okay.

This isn't linguistic drift, though. This is just straight-up mistaken identity. People have latched on to the "punk" aspect of steampunk, ditching the far more defining "steam" aspect. What that picture actually seems to be (going by the machine guns and the rifles and the like), is Clockpunk, which is about clockwork tech, not steam tech. Yes, they're close, but they're separate for a reason. Steampunk has the iconic pipes and boilers aesthetic, while Clockpunk has the gears and pulleys aesthetic.

The airships might help, if they were actual steam powered airships and not just floating sailing ships.

Okay, seriously, those are similar enough that we probably don't need to distinguish. I mean come on now.
